Galaxy s25 messenger not loading images?!?

Got an S25 literally only 2 days ago.

For some reason FB messenger is having issues with images...both...

1. When somebody sends me a photo, it will show as a previewed image in the chat, but when you click to see it full size a blank screen pops up, only with icon options to edit or download. But just a black screen. Ridiculous

2. Similarly. When I want to attach an image it asks what subfolder you want to choose from (instead of just opening the gallery like normal in prior models 🙄) but whetever subs you select from the drop down menu it just appears with a blank screen as if you don't have a single image or album on the phone....it has a small icon for Google photos but when you press this to go into your actual albums and select a photo and press send, the send button just goes white and nothing else happens. You just have to come back out of it back to the chat. 

Tried every suggesting going...clearing th3 cache, reinstalling the app, permissions are all on. What a shambles. Is this perhaps an app version bug/glitch??

Hi! Have the same problem... Reinstalling the app solves the problem for a short time,  maybe  1-2 hours and it coming back. So frustrating... Never had this with my S23.

Same issue on my brand new S 25 ultra I got 5 days ago! Nothing has fixed the issue. Seems to work at random and then stop working for hours and hours. They better fix this ***** soon

exactly same issue for two weeks. tried everything except boot one. so annoying. i am samsung fun all along but now regret i choose s25+ over oneplus 13.

this is not a solution. it worked for a while (few good hours) now it is back to a blank white screen whenever i click the photo i want to view. Such a frustration after i upgraded to this S25 ultra.

So you'll need to either:

1. Try uninstall then reinstall the app from the Play Store (don't uninstall then click install again on the same version)

2. Reach out to Meta via the Messenger App on the Play Store.

It is almost certain to be a messenger app issue as meta would need to update their apps. Unlikely to be a device issue as it only affects messenger.
