So I have just seen (by logging on to find my mobile) that the Guardian Mode will no longer be available after 30th September 2022.
Is Samsung replacing this with anything or simply just taking this away? Why is this being taken away as it works perfectly fine?
This makes a parent like me hugely anxious. This is my primary way of keeping tabs on my 13-year-old when she is out and about. I think it is a fantastic tool, I can log in and in 10 seconds just check she is where she says she is. It is peace of mind in today's incredibly dangerous world.
Together with the SOS alerts, I know if she's in trouble and can track her whereabouts immediately.
Please tell me there is something replacing this!
This is all I have on the website and cannot find any more information about it.

Im really not happy this option is going after so long, my son has health issues and I use this app to ensure he is safe and can track him should anything happen.. very poor decision to remove it

Please do no remove Guardian. If a phone is stolen the only way to check is with it. Because of 2FA it is often not possible to get a login since you no longer have the device! I want to be able to grant access to those I trust in-case of an emergency. Smart things does not help at all in this case, with no option to ring device etc etc.. No thanks for google maps either.

Gutted great function and just bought my daughter a new Samsung phone for the purpose of using guardian mode to find out it is going and no idea why.

Smart things won't work for this. Your kid can stop sharing location with you whenever they want. My kids have Galaxy A03s anyway which doesn't support the smart things app.
My solution is to basically control their Samsung account. It uses their email but you can make a new Samsung account and set up there verification however you want. I can just log in to find my mobile with whichever account/device I'm looking for.
I'll hand over control when my kids are a bit older.

Honestly astounded they've removed Guardian Mode.
Seems absolutely non-sensical and is actually the primary motivator behind me considering moving to iPhone.
So stupid.

AndrewL - Is there anyway people who'd like to see Guardian Mode added again can request it?
I'm dumbfounded that the decision was made to remove something that your number 1 competitor offers for free.
This has become the first time I've seriously considered moving to iPhone.
I'm glad me and my Partner noticed Guardian Mode had been removed now, instead of when we hoped to use it - only to discover it had gone, without warning.
It seems like such a myopic decision, I can't wrap my head around it.
