I have a galaxy a13 and it is currently updated to the latest version, but I still don't have the most recent emoji update. Both my Samsung keyboard and my Gboard (my default) are up to date (no further updates available), but I still only have the older version of the Samsung emojis. At first I figured the version of my phone is too old, but when I looked it up I saw that the new emojis are available on the a13, and I've seen people with older versions with newer emojis. Please help.

Hi @Jadah ,
It sounds like you've already done some troubleshooting, but there are still a few things you can try to get the latest emojis on your Galaxy A13.
-
Clear Cache of Keyboard Apps: Sometimes, cached data can cause issues with updates. Go to Settings > Apps, then find both Samsung Keyboard and Gboard. Clear their caches and restart the phone.
-
Force Update via System Settings: Sometimes, system updates roll out in waves, so it might not have reached your device yet. Double-check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install to ensure there are no pending updates that might include the latest emoji set.
-
Change Emoji Style: Some users have reported that changing the system emoji style can trigger an update. Try switching between different keyboard options (e.g., switching from Samsung Keyboard to Gboard or vice versa) to see if this prompts the emoji update.
-
Check Region or Carrier Restrictions: Occasionally, certain updates, including emoji updates, might be delayed or rolled out by region or carrier. You could check if others in your region or on your carrier have received the update.
-
Try Beta Programs: Gboard sometimes offers beta versions with newer features before they're widely available. You could join the Gboard beta program through the Google Play Store and see if it unlocks the newer emojis for you.
-
Factory Reset (as a last resort): If none of the above works, you might want to try a factory reset after backing up your data. Sometimes, a fresh start helps with updates that haven't been applied correctly.
Let me know if any of these work for you!

Hello, thank you for the reply.
1. How do I actually clear the cache? I followed the instructions of going into my Gboard through the apps in settings, but I'm only given the options to open, force stop, or uninstall the app. Also, my Samsung keyboard does not show up in these apps so I don't know how to clear the cache for that either.
2. My phone is currently up to date, when I go to "software update" in my settings, it says there are no more updates available and that my software is currently up to date.
3. I've already switched between my Samsung and Gboard and unfortunately the emojis remain the same.
4. Others in my region and with my carrier have received the emoji update.
5. The beta program for Gboard is full
6. I'm trying to avoid factory resetting my phone but thank you for the help!
