I was hoping to use my Galaxy Watch Active 2 to track a kayaking workout. Unfortunately, it isn't one of the workout options on the watch. After searching for a way to track kayaking, I read a recommendation to set the watch to bicycling, and then it would use GPS to track the distance and the watch would track duration, etc. Then, after using the bicycling option, the recommender said to use the Samsung Health app to edit the workout from bicycling to kayaking, which is one of the workout types listed with the app. I tried doing this but there doesn't seem to be a way to edit workouts.
Can someone explain how to change a completed workout from bicycling to kayaking?
Thanks,
Gregg

The time has come for me to replace my Galaxy active 2. The screen just went black. It still seems to be functioning but I just can't see anything. After scouring the I internet and trying a few things, then talking to Samsung support and trying those things again, I was told that my only choice would be a replacement. I looked into this hoping I just hadn't noticed an update that finally allowed you to edit workouts properly but to the best of my knowledge that is still not available.
I have started to look at other watches now and in asking around have had others say they were considering a galaxy watch and after hearing my complaint have also decided to steer clear of it.
I have a galaxy phone, galaxy buds and if it weren't for this I would have stuck with the galaxy watch but given that this has been ignored for years now, I will be going elsewhere for my next smart watch. Even despite the trade in deal I was offered for my broken watch.

the Samsung app health for running is a bit too generous and a liar because 10,000 steps does not equal 7 miles and I want to be able to edit because it is not the right information. plus I have been running for 15 years and 10,000 is equal to the most 4 and a half miles, how can we not edit an app to what we choose to, when we are the ones paying for this, please explain?

If you forget to end a workout you cannot edit! Its very annoying.. i see other posts form 2019.. it says solved and samsung has not solved it! It cannot be that difficult

I agree! Super frustrating! Just happened to me. Went to shower afterward and completely forgot to end the workout. Now my only option is to delete it or live a lie.
Also annoyed at the lack of workout options to choose from! Add taibo, Samsung!

It happens (once in a while) to stop the workout on my watch, when I have finished exercising. So after 5 hours I have burnt 2000 kcal. Is it possible to edit the workout duration?
I read an article: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/mobile-apps-services/editing-a-workout-with-the-samsung-health-a...
which advises to delete the existing exercize and manually enter the data (time and duration). But it will remove some data, heart rate graphs, heart rate zones.
I was contacted by a Samsung Customer Agent (who was supposed to be responding to the above question), but the advice she gave me was: "please reset your phone".
So Samsung can you fix this or at least show the courtesy to respond to questions or requests?

Came here to ask this same question, everytime I come looking for "why I can't do some basic functionality" and see a 3 year old post about it, I get pushed further and further to switching to iOS

Editing an activity would be very beneficial. I have forgotten to finish an activity when I was done and system keeps recording time, I would like just to clip off the extra time

I have often the exact same situation. It would be ineed extremly helpful as most of my bike workouts now have distorted metrics like time/km or average speed lower than correct.
