I just noticed now whilst browsing through the phone settings. Under connections the NFC and contactless payments setting was turned off (A53 5G).
How did Google Wallet/contactless pay work earlier this morning in my local shop when making a contactless
payment?
@Bigtasty65: It's possible that Google Wallet has permission to enable NFC when you open the app. With this in mind, try disabling NFC and contactless payments, then open Google Wallet, and check to see if NFC is now switched on. Furthermore, head to Settings > Apps > Google Wallet, and check the permissions here.
I did what you said Andrew and oddly enough Google is asking me to turn NFC on!
Not sure how it worked earlier on but it worked, so I'm not complaining 🤞🏻. I should point out that it's always switched on normally. So I'm not sure why it was off. When I came across it in the settings.
