The only sellingpoint for me to go from s22u to s24u was the prosessor and the cameras, the AI was interesting as well. Weeell, when I got the phone the camera mode did a way worse job as a pointnshoot camera, and the AI dont even know my language, so that is useless. I also found out that AI is going to be a paid thing in the future. I have always loved samsung and how open the OS is, but I think i will go for another brand next time.. i am so frustrated by this purchase...

The exact wording is "galaxy ai features will be free until the end of 2025 on supported devices".

Thats not enough info to go off to make an assumption. As in, there's no mention of which features and stuff. Plus lots of galaxy ai is ran locally not using samsung servers. Eg, audio eraser is ran locally, image generation is server based. They wouldn't charge for on device ai.

For the language thing, you'd have to explain more. Which ai feature did you try that had language issues and did you have your language selected as your main language? You're typing in English in a uk forum hence me asking

There are alot of speculations that it will be a subscription in the end of 2025. It almost feel like they are trying to trick costumers by saying look at all of these cool features, and later: btw some of them will cost money...

I was sent to this community by samsung,

I speak norwegian, and that is not a suported language in the translation tools, and it is the main language on my phone. I thought the translation was a Key feature, but so far it is useless and not Worth the upgrade for me. But it is the camera that is irritating me the most. To slow shutter, samsung tels me to use 12mp instead, but then 50 and 200mp is useless unless i used a tripod. I know photography very well, but i dont want to use the pro function...

For the camera part, you can use camera assistant to tweak how it works and make it faster. You can also reduce the processing of images if you wish to speed things up. I can't comment exactly on the s24u but my s25u and s22 don't need a tripod for high res images. Just holding your phone still is plenty.

For languages, I get your point. The selection isn't super large. The main thing of that is they're all ai based, so models need to be trained. Where other apps have more normal algorithms to translate. Hopefully soon more languages will come

Thats really strange. My s25u beats my s22 in every way. And I can use that as comparison as the s25u and s24u have the same cameras. Just my ultra wide has a higher res

Yes, but as I hope is that the updated software that s25u have (that make the photo/video great also fix the s24u when it rolls out.

Could very be, I'm running one ui 7 and I'm guessing you aren't using the beta. Good news, oneui 7 should come to the s24u very soon

Wow yeah I see what you mean now. It looks like it's trying way too hard to process images. Have you tried camera, settings, intelligent optimisation, quality optimisation minimum.

In camera assistant, disable adaptive pixel in advanced resolution options. Also prioritise focus over speed
