Adding favourites in contacts

For some reason my phone won't let me add any favourites/emergency contacts? It keeps telling me "none found", whenever I search either by number or name.

 Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Try going contacts
And click the three Horizontal bars
And click on Group's
And create a group
To add contacts favourites the group

@LJP75: Please can you confirm the model number and current Android version of your phone, located in Settings > About Phone. If you're on Android 10, 11 or 12, then head to the Contacts app > Scroll down and select a contact, and tap the star in the bottom left corner to add them as a favourite. Now, tap the 3 lines in the top left > Groups > Emergency Contacts, and tap the '+' symbol next to any favourites to add them to the group. Alternatively, tap the pencil symbol in the top right > Add Member > Select a contact > Done, then hit Save at the bottom of the screen.

Hi AndrewL, it's an A52s model & the current Android version is 12. I have already tried xSteveuk's advice to no avail.
