Hi @AdamFA, good afternoon.

In order to make sure all the ice will defrost you need to turn off the power, you can't keep the refrigerator keep running. Please don't force this by heating up 😇 This can be a little bit uncomfortable but I hope this will resolve the issue, if not the next step will be a service request for a repair.

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hi @AdamFA, good morning.

Welcome to the Samsung Community and thank you for reaching out to us. There are a few thing you can try to resolve this, have you checked if the space around the refrigerator is dust free? And does the refrigerator have enough room so both sides can loose the warmth? We recommend about 5 cm at the side and about 10 at the back. Are al are openings inside the cooler free to breath and circulate the air? Does both doors also closes fine?

Perhaps a little bit inconvenient but sometimes a hard defrost(takes about 3 days) will defrost inner ice so this won't come back. If this doesn't resolve this a service request ill be the next step.

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hi @MartijnK , Thank you for your answer. The space is a bit less than recommended but the appliance has already been standing in this position for one and a half years and only now has the ice appeared. It is complicated to dust behind as there is no space to reach there. If we defrost the freezer, how do we do that/is it possible to do without turning off power to the fridge as well?

Much appreciated, Adam

Thank you. It’s very frustrating that they can’t separate the fridge and freezer in that way. When possible I will do the defrost.

Hi @AdamFA, good afternoon.

When your refrigerator is out of warranty, our service center will sent you first an indication for the repair costs. The standard call-out costs and research costs are €95.- combined, this is without labor and the parts.

Kind regards,

Martijn
