I bought a RS66N8101S9/EF and it came with a mysterious part IMG_20191115_204947.jpgIMG_20191115_204952.jpgIMG_20191115_205002.jpg

It was on one of the glass shelves.

Where is it supposed to go?

I have read the manual on the RZ32M and there is a mention of this on page 41. But I am none the wiser really.

"If you need more storage space, remove the top shelf cover and all 4 drawers and insert the provided shelf (see the figure) in the inner bottom of the main unit. Then, remove the Slim Ice Maker.

Removal of the top shelf cover and the drawers does not affect thermal and mechanical characteristics of the freezer. • A declared storage volume of the freezer is based on the conditions where the top shelf cover and all the drawers are removed and the provided shelf is inserted"

The figure shows the bottom drawer removed and this thing sitting on bottom of the fridge. Why you remove all the drawers and the slim icemaker is beyond me. Another thing to go into the attic I think!

Hi @RGj45663fg,

You could use this part, to create more space in your freezer. When you take the drawers out, you could use this part in place.

It can go on the bottom of the freezer with a drawer removed, but it really doesn't look like some part you are supposed to see, it's yellowish, kind of like another similar part that is mounted under the second drawer.

But it doesn't fit together with the bottom drawer countrary to the other part that does fit together with the drawer above.

Weird.

I tried that but it doesn't fit in the rails where the upper drawer slides and it doesnt fit in where the bottom drawer is because there is a vent in the back.

Also as far as I could tell there is nothing in the User's Guide

I would like to know too - I have a new rs8000 today here in the uk - can you post a picture of the part in situ / in the freezer please?

also, where is the smart home adapter available to purchase from please? I would like to know if my freezer fails next time by a temperature alert so I have time to rescue my food. Thank you

Hi @Tj2k,

Well if you remove the bottom drawer of the freezer, you can place this item to protect your items from freezing stuck to the inside of your freezer.

This is only necessary when you remove the bottom drawers of your freezer. StayCool!
