Seal has broken on a SAMSUNG washer less than 6 months old. Advised not under warranty as its a perishable, would not expect it to have perished so soon surely.
I paid upwards of £600 now they want me to pay a few hundred of my own money to have to repaired my washing machine is useless as water empties from it flooding my kitchen when the seal has torn.
Surely it should withstand being loaded and uploaded I have had other brands with no issues. SAMSUNG is suppose to be a well made product not at the cheaper end of the market
How many people need to complain before it's taken as a manufacturing fault. My friends have checked online and seen thus is a recurring issue.

Hi Winter
Sorry you’re going through the same as others..it seems unfair but you need to go through the tug of war to go forward. Document everything. Any chargeback or S75 claim will need this as part of the process anyway.
To me, replacing a seal is not worth it, if it is probable or possible that the problem will reoccur.
Refer to my note dated 7/5/23 and let your bank mediate …
Regards
Mike

A quick update, Samsung have agreed to a completely free of charge repair, I have this in writing from the Samsung UK CEO escalations team.
Also the retailer has confirmed the rubber seal is covered by guarantee/warranty, the only part that is not is the metal ring that holds the seal on.
I hope this helps other people when dealing with this problem.
Thanks
Chris

- Totally agree. Replaced my washer for a more expensive Samsung. Seal damaged after 1 week! Samsung said ‘user error’ so I have to pay to have it replaced as it now leaks water. Still less than a month old. I’m terrified it’ll happen again. Never had an issue with a washing machine before. So disappointed with Samsung. Shocking quality.

Just spent last 4 days arguing with Samsung about this issue for them to cut me off on the phone. Currys not giving two hoots about it and the consumer rights act 2015 so put a section 75 claim into my credit card company but not very hopeful so if that fails found a YouTube video to do it yourself you can buy the seal for about £55 at espares but going to try a bike puncture repair patch on it first and just trim it down if that don’t work then I will strip it turn seal to move the cut from 6 o’clock to 12 o’clock and what happens.

lol impossible, I spent a week arguing with them and went through customer relations. Seals won’t be replaced.

I tried waterproof glue. Made no difference! The seal basically has to be seamless otherwise it won’t work. I’m technically minded and watched the repair guy do it. Very easy to make a mistake as he removes the front, top and you must attached the ring over the seal otherwise you’ll get a nasty wet surprise when you run it. I gave up after customer relations told me to do one and Currys just divert you to Samsung . Cost me £140 to get repaired and now vigilant how I put clothes in the drum (jackets with zips zipped up and put inside out). Never buying Samsung products again.

Exactly the same happened to my 'new' washing machine.....and the photo is identical to yours which makes me think it is a design fault - but Samsung are refusing to repair for free! So I am going to make it my mission to ensure everyone knows NOT TO BUY SAMSUNG!
