As per the subject, I've just bought a Jet Bot AI+. In the Smart Things app, the map functions are greyed out; can anyone tell me how to do it? It seems to want to create its own map by moving from room to room, but I can't do that - plus it couldn't continue upstairs by itself.
I cleaned the dining room yesterday which was fine after some judicious rearrangement of chairs etc, but it is a wood floor. Today I took it into the sitting room; I couldn't find a way to tell it that it was a different room so it remapped the dining room. The sitting room has rugs and it coped well with two of them; the other rug will clean with my Dyson cylinder vaccuum but not with the Shark, so not really the Bot's fault. Most areas it cleaned well but does seem to go back and forth over clean bits and not readdress bits it's missed. Unfortunately it can't get under the sofas or the TV unit. It is a big room but after about an hour and 87% battery usage I have paused it until I can go and put it back on its base to recharge.
In the manual there are mentions of features I haven't found yet, such as telling it to clean a certain area. Are these only available once I have a map? It hasn't spoken yet, either!

@ren41: Have you made sure to register your Jet Bot AI+ in the SmartThings app, as this is required in order to access the mapping feature? To register the device, scan the SmartThings QR code on the Jet Bot itself, or open the SmartThings app > Home Appliances > Robot cleaner > Jet Bot. Regarding the mapping option, please take note of the following:
- When the Jet Bot does not have a saved map, it studies cleaning space through Auto Clean function which starts from the Clean Station. After studying the cleaning space, a map is saved.
- If the Jet Bot does not start cleaning from the Clean Station, or if the Clean Station is reinstalled to a new
position of 45 degree or 1 m or more from the previous installed place, the Jet Bot cleans all areas, which is not based on the created map. With this in mind, start the vacuum from the Clean Station for more accurate mapping results.
If the vacuum hasn't spoken, please open the SmartThings app and head to Settings > Sound mode > Voice guide > Voice.

Hello Andrew - yes, I registered it during setup. I'll start again from the dininsg room, where the station is; it's difficult as I can't leave doors open. Also, we have a long house which is one room deep how can I get it to go from the dining room (which has two doors) into the kitchen and then the back hall, rather than through the other way? Leave the other door shut to begin with?

can I delete what it thinks is the dining room(overwritten by the sitting room) and start again? Also, the room that the other dining room door leads to is a through room which I don't want it to clean - how do I deal with that? Beyond it is a sitting room and the front hall, which I DO want cleaned.

@ren41: If a map has been saved, then you can set a series of "No-go zones" via the Manage Maps section of the SmartThings app, whereby you can tell the Jet Bot where not to clean. If you usually leave certain doors in the house closed, then it is best to leave them closed so the vacuum is able to accurately map its route.

@ren41: In this instance, you can move the Clean Station upstairs and create a map as you have done with the downstairs areas. Please make sure to return the Clean Station to its original location when you're done, as this can affect the accuracy of your mapped routes if it is moved more than 1m, or turned more than 45 degrees.

@ren41: I also recommend taking a look at page 23 of the user manual, linked below, which walks you through the process of adding boundary markers, to reduce the risk of the Jet Bot falling down the stairs.

yes, I saw that. Does this mean I have to move the cleaning station upstairs every time I want to clean upstairs, or is this just for the mapping? I also need to try and work out how, or if, I can fit the house into just 4 maps; it was extended over three different periods so in addition to two sets of stairs, there are steps up and down between some rooms. Have I understood correctly that, once mapped, it can be put down in a room and will recognise where it is? If so, just the mapping that may be an issue...

I've read you can create maps without sending the jet bot round to do it, which is useful. I haven't had time to try it yet. Also that you can have 16 maps with the AI, is that correct?
