Inconsistent delivery approach to NI - confused

I live in Northern Ireland. I am confused by Samsung's approach to delivery here. I can get most things delivered, including washing machines and large TV's. When I try with a tumble dryer it says 'we cannot deliver to your address'. I'm intrigued as to why, specifically as they will deliver a washing machine (so it can't be size or weight restrictions).

Anyone know?

Being a forum for customers I coudnt say anyone could give you an answer better than your own guess. Could try getting an answer from samsung themselves but unsure if much point

May be better going to a retailer and seeing if they offer delivery to your area

@firsttimecustomer1: The only restrictions I'm aware of for freestanding laundry items like tumble dryers is that we don't offer installation services in Northern Ireland, only delivery within 2-5 days. Also, if no elevator is available, the delivery team are only permitted to climb 3 flights of stairs.

What I'd suggest is getting in touch with our Shop Team directly, as they can offer further clarification about any restrictions that might prevent items being delivered to your address. The team can be reached on 0333 000 0333 Mon-Fri | 8am to 8pm, or Sat-Sun | 9am to 6pm, or via Live Chat by following the link below.

Thanks - I will ask them. They have delivered various large items to me before and on testing today any and all washing machines are available to deliver to my NI address. ALL tumble dryers are not. I tested 15 in my basket (one at a time obviously) and all showed as 'Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to your address'

I enquired this over the weekend too and did exactly as yourself - adding one item each time without success.

Initially the person on the chat told me I was ordering from a .ie site instead of .co.uk site (not sure how he came to this revelation as I didn't even share a URL with him). After correcting him, he then told me it was due to them not offering installation. After correcting him again, he said it was a courier issue.

At this point I was getting brassed off at being fobbed off so I asked for someone to escalate this issue as I was able to order other large items as you also suggested.

They came back to me yesterday and said the order wouldn't go through as it was an issue with that particular model. They considered the case closed. Had to reopen it again to tell them it was ALL items.

Eventually I got this reply:

"Good Day

Thank you for your interest in our product

As much as we would love to assist you with this request, unfortunately, we're currently unable to ship this item to Northern Ireland due to specific requirements that cannot be fulfilled at the moment.

We truly apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Rest assured, we’re continually working to improve our service and we hope to make shipping to your area available again soon.

If there’s anything else we can support you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out we’re here to help!"

Cheers - that's helpful action you took. I see you received all the usual stock responses to fob you off, but well done for persevering. So we now know that they won't ship some large items to NI due to 'specific requirements that cannot be fulfilled at this moment'. It's nice to receive clarity lol. What a bunch of babbling words to throw at customers. It would have been more honest to say that we haven't a clue as to why this is happening.

Hi all, I think it may be useful to pinpoint you all to recent changes in legislation with regards to tumble dryers which has taken effect from 1st July 2025. This is European led legislation which is incorporated into Northern Ireland as a result of the Windsor Framework.

Specifically, these regulations introduce stricter energy efficiency standards and a new A-G energy labelling system for household tumble dryers. This could create additional issues for retailers in GB and may be a factor in disrupting distribution of such appliances from GB to Northern Ireland.

It could well be the issue, but you would think that the retailer (Samsung) would know that and if so why not tell the customer that rather than blow them off with utter nonsense as they have done to at least 2 of us now who have asked.

I did enquire about this legislation too with them. The customer service guys were completely unaware and couldn't state as to how this affects disruption of deliveries
