I have a brand new Samsung microwave and the bulb is so dim you can't see food cooking. Customer service tell me that this is not a fault, just designed that way! I've seen that others have the same issue. Just wondering if anyone has changed the lightbulb and it improved as otherwise this is a really bad design flaw.

I don't intend to change the bulb just find it hard to believe that Samsung would accept such a design flaw. I've seen the same complaint about their microwave bulbs going back several years now.

Of course that may be the issue. The light does seem ok when the door is open. Still a design flaw then!

also in the door is a mesh (more than likely made of metal) to bounce back the microwaves back into the oven , and not through the door. This will make it darker when the door is closed too as well as the tinted door.

I've seen posts about this problem going back 2 years, saying "your feedback has been noted and passed to our designers". My microwave was made in September 24 so there's no excuse for this stupid design. Can I take it back for a replacement with a different model?
