Cracks in Freezer Compartment Model No RS6HA8891SL

We've had our Samsung Family Hub Fridge Freezer for around four years, and up until recently, it worked perfectly. However, we've now noticed several hairline cracks developing inside the freezer compartment - despite only ever using it under normal conditions.

We contacted Samsung customer support and were told we'd need to pay for an engineer to inspect the issue. The engineer confirmed that the cracks cannot be repaired. When we followed up with Samsung, they basically dismissed our concerns, saying the appliance is still technically functioning and it's out of warranty — so there's nothing more they can do.

Our concern is that the cracks will only worsen over time and eventually lead to a total failure. More importantly, this appears to be a manufacturing defect, which should be covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states that consumers have the right to claim for faulty goods for up to six years in England and Wales (five years in Scotland), especially when a product has not lasted a reasonable length of time.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar with their Samsung fridge freezer? It’s incredibly frustrating to spend so much money on a premium product only for it to develop structural issues - and then be told there’s no help available.

I'm planning to escalate this further and would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

We have the same issue, and Samsung’s customer support told me that they cannot do anything as it’s not covered by warranty. Our fridge is less than two years old.
