Cook Time starts before preheat is finished

We recently got a NE63T8711SG oven with Smart Dial. It works great, but when I set to bake and select Cook Time, the timer starts counting down immediately. Is there a way to get it to wait to start the time after it's done pre-heating? I don't understand the purpose of setting the Cook Time starting before the oven has reached temp.

I have the exact same problem with my new Samsung bespoke oven model nsg6db850012aa. Can someone answer this. Why would the cook timer start before the cooking starts???

Would love to know if this is something you can configure as well. A one hour timer starts with every preheat but I don't want it to.
