Z Fold 7 main screen issue

Hi all, recently upgraded to the Z Fold 7 coming from s22 Ultra. Whilst loving the new phone I have noticed this with the main screen. When folded it appears the inner screen touches with visible proof of this when opened up again leaving marks where it has been sitting. Is this a normal thing with this phone. The marks can be wiped off as its just oils from the hands after use but even the tiniest of dust particles leaves an imprint in the screen protector. I have also noticed an uneven right side of the display that almost feels lumpy when sliding a finger up and down, around the same place to where it touches the other side.

My replacement is much better. I don't have those issues anymore.

Yes replacement fixed the problem with the screen issue. You can ask for a replacement with in 30 days from purchase, well verizon do, I don't know what other carriers do but I'm sure they do the same. Good luck. 👍

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I'll be sending it back for a replacement then, I'm in the UK but hopefully the experience will be similar 🙂

Where did you buy it? I bought mine from the Samsung website; I'm in the UK too. When I called Samsung support, the representative booked it for a repair, but the tech couldn't replicate the issue. I sent my Fold 7 with a dirty screen, but I'm guessing the phone screen was cleaned by the tech. I explained to the Samsung rep that I sent my phone with a dirty screen so it would be visible to the tech; after a day, the phone was returned to me. But the day after the tech called me asking me about the issue, I explained about the angel wings issue, and the tech could not see it and tried to replicate it. So the tech emailed me saying that I need to talk to Samsung because they cannot see the issue. I called a Samsung rep and explained the same day after the tech called me. I told the Samsung rep that I don't want this issue to cause me a lot of problems in the future. I know Samsung trade-in/repair is very fussy. One dent on the screen, and Samsung repair would give me a hard time. Why can't the customers do the same when buying an expensive, brand-new phone? It is unacceptable and not really worth the price. This new phone should not have issues like this. So the day I got the phone from the tech, I unfolded it and there were a lot of dimples on the screen. The screen was clean; it had more than 10 dimples. So I told the Samsung rep and asked me to send the device back for a replacement. When I got my replacement, I got another Samsung rewards the same points as my first Fold 7 purchase. I got my replacement in a week. I hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing! I got mine from curry's and it's not been 30 days yet, so ill try my luck with them. I cleaned my inner screen and have not seen those "angel wings" issue yet. As others have mentioned it might be due to oils left on the screen, I'll use it normally and see if I can reproduce it again. As for the dimples issues, I haven't seen that many yet. Did your replacement resolve all of those issues permanently? Have you been unable to see either of this issues since you got it?

My replacement was perfect. I had other issues with my first fold. It was not opening flat, there was a creaking sound when I opened and closed it, and the screen in the middle bottom made a sound when I closed my phone. I held it there with my thumb when I closed it. I was not going to report it to Samsung, but the last straw for me was the angel wings issue. And when I saw someone say on Reddit that they had theirs replaced, I just went crazy with the Samsung rep because I knew they would say it was normal. A lot of users on Reddit said it was normal, but it is not.

Leave your screen dirty at night and leave it close until you wake up the next day. Then take pictures of them so you'll have proof. That's what I did.

Thanks, I'll try that! I normally just use it and close it when it's still got fingerprints, I've owned other foldable in the past that doesn't have this issue so it definitely doesn't sound normal

I owned the original Fold until the 6. I still have the 6; I never had any issues like this with them too.

Yes it fixed my problem with the angel wings. They replaced it with a new one right at verizon store. Plus replaced said that there are no replacement parts because phone just came out. Hope yours stay ok.
