Z fold 3 hinge

I use my phone daily , predominantly the inner screen. Yesterday I noticed that the phone felt stiff whilst I was trying to open it. I had a closer look at the hinge and saw a fabric like material in between the very slim groove. Is this part of the mechanism ? The phone is not unfolding flat and I didn't want to force it. I am now consigned to using the outer screen until I have a clearer understanding of what's going on. Is this a common issue with the Z Fold 3 ? If so can it be repaired ?

Looking at the phone now, there's no fabric like material between the grooves

I would suggest to let a Samsung Service Centre have hands on with your phone to properly assess what's happened @Leysha
