Z Flip 6 Unresponsive Screen

My device went through an automatic update on Saturday. When my phone restarted the main screen came on but was unresponsive along with the side buttons. I managed to do a soft reset but that did not work. I tried starting in recovery mode using power/vol up but it will not enter the menu. After several soft resets, I finally managed to get the screen to respond. This worked fine until I closed the phone and reopened it, and the same issue happened again. I have done a factory reset and removed all the apps but the issue remains. I could start the phone in safe mode and that got the screen working but it won't even do that anymore. It is also overheating when charging and when the inside screen is distorted with static lines when closing the phone. I spoke to Samsung support who said it sounded like an app issue, that's the reason I completely wiped the phone, I should state the only apps I had on my phone were banking etc, I haven't installed a new app in 3 months nor updated any of them. The device has not been dropped, damaged etc and is in pristine condition. This occurred as soon as the update was installed. The front screen works fine.

ugh, sorry to hear that... I'd also love to know what the actual problem is, definitely suspicious that two ostensibly unrelated things fail more or less simultaneously, and it happens to everyone.  definitely sounds like a manufacturing defect to me.  this was the itemized bill they sent me, although I can't really say it gave me any insight.

IDK what I'm going to do, Samsung support was so unhelpful and such a waste of time 😞

Same here, i made an update to the phone and when i open it does not work. Only front screen is working. I left iphone, but now its only regret.

I bought my Flip-6 last August from Samsung directly and last week the USB port stopped working and I took it into the Bristol UK Samsung store and they examined the phone and said there was damage to the hinge so it would not be covered under warranty for a repair. They now want to charge me £35 to get my phone back!

i had this problem 2 months ago. i babied this phone since i got it and talked it up to everyone i knew it is still my favorite form factor. their service team said it had water damage initially then they backtracked and said it was physical i had to send it in twice the first time assuring me it was under warranty. it was whole month. i was just happy to have my phone back. today i leave my phone to charge and then i come back to a black screen it wont turn on it wont respond to anything. i know its till receiving a charge because my charger is telling me. this is beyond frustrating. im going to send it back but if this is a known problem and they are lying about it and getting hundreds of dollars from customers then there needs to be a class action lawsuit because they cant just keep doing this to customers. if they weren't ready to release a phone with a folding screen they should have done more R and D or had more robust warranties because this is out of hand

Ik heb net hetzelfde probleem. Na de software-update naar ONE UI 7.0 begonnen de schermproblemen. Eerste dagen op te lossen door een harde restart, maar nu volledig gedaan, niets werkt nog. Wat kunnen we doen? 

Translation: I have the same problem. After the software update to ONE UI 7.0 the screen problems started. First days solved by a hard restart, but now completely done, nothing works anymore. What can we do?

Hi All, 

Same problem with my phone, had it for a few months. But it did not start immediately after an update.

Also I purchased the phone online and as it came from another country, Samsung do not provide warranty at all, which is ridiculous as this is their product no matter where it comes from.

Similar problem. After last update screen became unresponsive.  First it froze for a few minutes, then 24 hours . I'm am on my second long freeze time . I discovered it's only when i fold it and unfold it. Problem is I have no idea how it fixed itself the first time, but now that I know what it is ... I am never folding it again.  I did all resets and switched it off using bixby as it's the only way to switch it off without using the screen.
