Z FLIP 6 NOISES

Just thought I'd start a thread to see how prevalent this issue with noisy/cracking/popping screens is.  

I have a very small noise which is barely audible when I open and shut the screen. But my phone is only a week old and I'm getting a paranoid about it developing, especially given how many reports are coming in. I didn't take Samsung Care Plus protection because I've read it's a bit of a con.

I also have a tiny noise but i suspect it's the hinge mechanism and not the screen. Didn't you get the free year of Samsung Care when you bought your z flip6?

I have it on mine as well. I've also noticed if I put a finger underneath the crease as I'm folding it, I can actually feel something move that coincides with the sound.

I had the same issue with mine and I also started feeling the screen moves when I press it near the hinge. I returned it and ordered another one, but after 2 weeks I started hearing the noise again. Not sure what to think of this.

Same happens on mine: a slight, barely audible “clicking”/”ticking” sound. TechZilla above has it right in that it’s a normal characteristic of the hinge mechanism construction (i.e. the various parts and spaces in the hinge needed to function as it does, according to the Samsung HQ guidance we have at our side). Same thing for when you press and rub around the hinge.

Of course, if anyone's concerned about their phone it's best to get it checked out by an authorised Samsung Support Centre.

Mine automatically activated when I setup my phone, then I got an email from assurant confirming my policy. If activated it should be shown in settings on your phone in about phone at the bottom.
