I recently had my flip phone repaired in January of this year after a classmate who didn't like me sat on it on purpose while it was folded. This happened back in April of last year, but I could only get it fixed this year because there's no Samsung-certified repair shop nearby, and I had to wait until my dad's friend traveled to Malaysia to get it repaired

Today, I noticed that the bezel is lifting on the lower right side of the screen. I'm unsure what to do since I can’t get it repaired unless someone travels to a location with a Samsung repair shop. I also don’t have an old phone to use as a backup. I'm worried that the lifting bezel might catch on something and peel off completely. Additionally, I'm hesitant to fold the phone because I fear that it could damage the screen and allow dust to get inside.

I can't buy a new phone because I already spent more than USD300 to fix it, and I can't afford to spend more money on a new phone less than a month later. I haven't done anything to cause the bezel to lift, and I treat it very carefully. What should I do?

Hello 👋 @For A Millenium  and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum section for UK and Ireland users.

I'm sorry to hear of the current issues with your phone, and the warranty implications of using a phone thats been released in another region.

If you have any work carried out by an unauthorised repair shop then this will void the remaining warranty,  however I appreciate the situation your in.

Do you have any Household Insurance that may cover phone's,  and some Bank Accounts provides cover as a perk of the account.

My advice comes as a UK citizen so your region may be different in those aspects.

So the options could be to >

  • 1. Pack it away and when someone does travel let them take the phone again and in the interim use a cheap interim phone.
  • 2. Have it repaired at the expense of the warranty. { Personally i wouldn't take this avenue.  }

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
