I've owned Samsung Galaxy mobiles for 15 years (S4, 6 edge, 8+, 9+, etc. and my Galaxy S III is still working!) but since I switched to the Flips a few years ago every one I've had, the Flip3, 4 and now 5 has experienced a failed screen protector after roughly a year's use - same thing every time, lifting around the fold. Each time I buy the next model, do the transfer onto it and then send it in for repair. Samsung honoured the warranty on the Flip3 and 4, but now have told me they are not honouring the warranty on the Flip5 because I left it too long before sending it in. Even though it's only 9 months old. Anyone who has this problem knows it goes from bad to worse very quickly, and frankly I didn't have the chance to go buy the Flip6 before sending it in so it took a few weeks, and this is judged to be too long.
So, my question for the community (super useful stuff here BTW!) - are there any alternatives for replacing the screen for less than the £340 quoted? Also, is the same problem happening to the Flip 6, as although I love the Flips, it's pricey if the warranty is not being honoured. Thanks all!

Thanks. Apparently the screen requires replacement as well, and it seems it's policy to replace the battery when replacing the screen. Somewhat of a cascade effect. The lifting of the protector has damaged the screen. If I had sent it in when it first lifted, Samsung is saying it would have been covered - fair enough, it was Christmas and after Christmas was a busy time, so it didn't happen. I'll accept that, but it doesn't sit well with me that Samsung is selling the fourth generation of a product that still can't last a year of normal use. Disappointing, as the Flip6 looks like a good upgrade.
