Z Flip 3 main screen malfunctioning - bug?

I've had my Z flip 3 for about three weeks now and I've encountered a strange bug, or i hope it's a bug. Main screen will sometimes malfunction while you either open or close the handset. Less of a problem when closed, but if the malfunctioning happens while opening. Screen won't turn on until you close the phone again or just wait it out for it to"refresh"? I've already got a replacement (i hope so...), which has the exact same problem as the first. Some good answers?

It has seemingly rectified itself after I did a settings reset. Not a full factory reset as Samsung suggested as I only wanted to do that as a last resort. It has only done it once or twice in the last two weeks now. I contacted Samsung who said they would take in for repair under warranty but I'm just keeping an eye on it just now if it gets worse again I may send off. Really regret buying this phone now though 😬

So update after thinking the problem had rectified, it's now worse than ever. About to factory reset my phone as that's what Samsung asked me to try before they'll even look to send away for repair. Have totally lost faith in the phone though, I use my phone for work and personal so a lot of opening and closing throughout a day, I can't afford for it to break completely. Will let you know any more soon.

My phone has been doing the exact same thing since about November (I got it September) I have been the Samsung experience store 3 times and every time they discuss as a software fault and refuse to investigate.

I wondered if you had any update on your phone? Have you found a way to rectify/Have Samsung repair the screen issue?

I have just received my phone back after it was collected and sent to the local Samsung Repair Centre (I booked it in via help chat through Members App) Having just installed everything again and set up back up its so far so good. Time will tell I guess. Unfortunately the phone returned with a slight scratch on the back casing which wasn't there before. My phone has been kept in a case since day 1. I'd suggest taking lots of evidence photos before you send if it needs to go for repair. I'll update again after a few days use. 🤞

I will try Samsung again I think, each time I have been I have provided videos of the problem.

The issue is intermittent and seems to make a liar out of me when I get there and it doesn't happen (always the way!) So they totally dismiss the issue.
I may try booking through the members app then, see where I go from there

I Have the exact same problem. Screen turns off when phone opened. Very frustrating. THe screen protector has also started lifting off on one side of the hinge, but I think that is a different problem. I returned it to Samsung (handled by Fonfix in Ireland), and received a shockingly poor level of service. Because of some scuff marks from normal use ON THE OPPOSITE METAL SIDE OF THE DEVICE (nowhere near and nothing to do with the problem) they deemed the phone to have had its warranty voided. They said it would need a screen replacement (unlikely to fix the problem) and I would be liable for the full cost. Completely outrageous - they have some nerve. Never buying a Samsung again. Have put the phone up for sale, I'm switching to iPhone.

I have the same problem. Never dropped the phone or anything. The screen shuts off every time I open my phone. Yet in the right light i can see the screen is still on just without the backlight. I press the power button twice slowly and the screen comes back on. It started ever since the last update. Hopefully samsung fixes this problem because it is very annoying

Just started happening to me. If phone sits closed for a minute and then I open it; the screen comes on briefly then cuts off before its fully opened. Then the only way out of the black screen is to close my phone and reopen or press the power button twice.

Exactly the same as me, only started the last couple of days had it since the first week it came out, can do it once in a while or 3 times in a row
