Hi,
I recently got a Z Flip 5 and have noticed that when on a Whatsapp voice call, if the screen locks/dims whilst on the call, the call automatically goes mute. I can't hear them and they can't hear me. As soon as I unlick the phone, we can hear each other again. It's really annoying, and I have to keep the screen 'active' to stop it happening. I've checked battery optimisation etc and everything is switched to unrestricted.

I also have the same issue. My issue started recently in month of end Jan or first week of Feb 2024 with z flip 3. I called Samsung support, they can't resolve this issue and recommended to upgrade to z flip 5. I got it on Mar 1 and setup on Mar 3. Still the same issue continues. This is very frustrating. I think some upgrade during this timeframe is buggy. Its unnecessary upgrade even my last phone just around 2 years old. I called again today, they are placing new order. Not good experience with Samsung recently with z flip. I am not sure how they will settle this issue and newer order payments. Very frustrating.
Other annoying issue is that Bluetooth keeps on disconnecting while listening music on Spotify. To address unlock screen & open Spotify then starts playing. I don't have this issue on other Samsung phones S7 and S8.
Did you hear or have any way to fix it?

Looks found solution for whatsup issue. I uninstalled and installed whatsup again then this issue got solved. I am still monitoring. Be aware that you may need to backup your data before unstalling whatsup. I did no care keeping old data so ok but lost all data.
Another reference to this solution: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-note10-series/whatsapp-call-issue/td-p/2976950

If the screen locks or dims the call is muted on my phone but I can hear the caller. It's VERY frustrating having to keep the screen on during a call.
Any suggestions please?

I am facing this problem as well. I have samsung s22 ultra with smart view cover on it. When I try to receive whatsapp call on my Galaxy watch 4 classic or my samsung galaxy buds. The caller cannot hear me. Once I open the flip cover and whatsapp calling screen is in forefront the caller is able to hear me as soon as I flip close the cover or the whatsapp screen goes in background the mic is muted again. As long as I keep the flip cover open and whatsapp screen is on the forefront it works. I have checked all permission are ok. Even tried reinstalling whatsapp the issue persists.
However if I initiate the whatsapp call from phone and then transfer it to the watch or buds it works fine even if the cover is closed or the whatsapp screen goes in background.
Normal mobile network calls are working fine both ways.

Happens to me all the time.
When i accept call with buds - caller never hears me until I tap on the phone
The same applied if i accept the call with samsung watch.
Absolutely not any issues if I accept the call on the phone, however if it is videocall - and you quickly get into some app to check anything , person stops hearing you again.
