Recently it's started to randomly freeze when I open it. And reboot itself. I sent it off to o2 and all the said was the protective film has been removed and so not covered by warranty. They want 291 to replace the whole screen.   Would removing a screen protector really caused to do that? I thought it would be a software issue.
P.s The screen isn't damaged at all

I have removed my screen protector as it came away from the screen on my flip 3. I have changed the protector on every phone I have previously had and as far as I know it never voided the warranty. Samsung have really dropped the ball with the flip and fold, there are so many reports from people with screen issues and they can't all be "damaged". They need to accept that it is a design fault as many of these people have lost faith in Samsung.

Are you using the Fold or Flip³ @loowesse  ?

Galaxy-z-fold-z-flip/z-flip-3-screen-protector-replacement.

And Galaxy-z-fold-z-flip/z-fold-3-screen-protector-and-warranty-contradiction.

Removing the screen protector on the Fold³ and Flip³ does not invalidate the warranty as far as I'm aware.

However the caveat is if the display is damaged in the act of removing the protector then the warranty is voided.

Try >

  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.
  • And as a last resort back up and factory reset.

Circumvent o2 and go direct to a Samsung Service Centre to see if they'll assist.

I wish you all the best. Take care.  😎

It's a samsing z fold 3. I did a factory reset and it was still freezing and rebooting itself about twice a day. The screen isn't damaged at all. So yeah I just wanted to know if that a missing screen protector could really be the cause of my phone doing that or did they just see that it didn't have one and is trying to make money out of me .
