So I see today that Samsung have upped their purchase incentives / freebies to buy one of the latest fold6.
It seems that this might have been timed with Apples release campaign of the phone 16 and as a 'counter offer' in the market.
Today, now you can buy the fold6 at full price and get a free chromebook, a free tablet, and a free faux leather case. Additionally if using the app for the first time a further 5% discount.
I just wish the sale price would be reduced, which I would rather have, than all these freebies, that perhaps many users do not want or need. It does seem that this is a bit of a Samsung 'tech clearout' on various items that haven't proven to be very popular.
I think that most people that buy the fold6 intend to use as a tablet and phone... so a free tablet to go alongside seems strange 🤔. Most people also have a laptop already... so a free chromebook is likely gonna end up on ebay.
If you add up the costs of all this free tech then it probably is an attractive offer to someone that needs all the freebie items, but the likelihood is that many items will list for resale and drive the market value down.
As soon as there is an influx of chromebooks on ebay the £275 suggested value will drop like a lead balloon, to perhaps half of its value. The same with a £475 Samsung S9FE tablet... I expect you could buy a new one in a month for less than £250... new and unused.
Frustrated, as I really want to buy one of these... but i would just rather see £500 off the sales price, than ~ £750 of clearance tech that really isn't needed.
