Out with Z Fold5 - In with Pixel XL

I've had my Galaxy Z Fold5 for three weeks now. I think I've only unfolded it twice. It's not for me. I'm sending it back and have pre-ordered the Pixel Pro 9 XL. 

At least I'll have a normal front sized screen to look at.

Sorry to hear that the Fold 5 wasn't to your liking, did you consider the S24 Ultra?

Ive been seriously looking at the google 9 pro xl got a £330 off with my s21 ultra at the moment as well. Reviews mainly look positive.

At the moment is the key, but what about in a months time? It does look nice but I have seen contrasting reports such as throttling to 50% etc. No device is perfect, it just depends on your needs and how much you are willing to compromise. For me the Samsung ecosystem like the TVs, laptops, ring, watches, monitors, earbuds and smartphones is why I stay with Samsung. Sometimes something is more than equal to the sum of its parts.

Completely get where you are coming from pushed the advantages of samsungs ease of use and intuitive software for years and will stick to tvs for picture quality but for some reason its caught my eye. Probably a passing fad.

At this time during pre-release it is hard to tell just how well the pixel 9 pro will perform.

I am sure a lot of these new AI features will be attractive but the hardware itself is yet to be proven.

It seems Google have stopped a lot of reviews and with the embargo pre-release then a lot of the genuine reviewers are unable to give honest reviews.

The Tensor G4 chip doesn't look to be impressing many reviewers with its performance, but this might not be the entire story and it does have expanded RAM for AI optimisation.

Personally I would wait for some genuine reviews to come through... but nonetheless I am sure it will be a nicely designed device.

For info, here is a benchmark comparison between the S24U chipset and the Tensor G4. Benchmarks don't tell the whole story and not always representative of 'normal usage'

It is hard to know what is honest and what isn't in some reviews. I have just watched a video where a Pixel 9 overheated when just shooting 4K 30 video in a comparison with the IPhone 15. Was this slanted against the Pixel?. Who knows.

The s24 fe comes out soon and s25 might see what there like as well and see where the dust settles with the google as i said think it might be a fad or maybe dysentery

Forums like this are great to chew the fat, share, care, but also respect opinions. It was always good to see people go beyond the brand, sometimes it reinforces opinion other times you jump ship.

I read the other day a tri fold is coming soon, can't recall the brand.
