One must carefully weigh the decision between launching a new device and potentially upsetting existing Galaxy owners, particularly when competitors are ahead in terms of updates. Remaining silent on actual release dates does not help.

So the update would always have been after the s25 release. Now that has happened then I expect the oneui7 update to happen fairly soon.
Oneplus have rolled out their oxygen15 already. But the oneplus 13 was unveiled back in October. Oxygen15 was released soon afterwards.
Google own the android ecosystem. and therefore they have full control. They always provide their own Pixel phones with the native android before any other manufacturer does.
Samsung add their own UI over the top of the native android. This takes time to create, test and roll out. This was 'supposed' to start beta sometime in October but things got delayed for one reason or another... and not publicised the reasons why. So beta didn't start until December.
I am not making excuses for Samsung and neither do I work for them. Just trying to put out some valid reasons why it is a bit later than normal.
Samsung want to make sales. Their latest software would be rolled out to the latest phone first. Then on a generation priority will be rolled out, s24. Fold6, s23, fold 5 ...etc etc.

But other than that, you believe that the older phones should get the latest software before the newer phones ?

No, I merely expect better communication from Samsung.

In previous years, didn't we get new versions of Android several months before the release of new devices?! New devices came out with .1 version...
Samsung cannot justify anything in this delay, and then also in the fact that it does not offer an apology and clear indications to its users when they intend to release new versions of the system on older models. Because all of us who buy S series devices pay very dearly for these devices!

Samsung should rethink on its software update policies for their older devices.

It doesn't matter much to me whether Samsung releases a new update or not, but if I can't get instant notifications on my newly purchased smartphone and tablet like on iPhones, I would wait for a new update.
