Z flip 6 ? Liquid damage only affecting main screen, nothing else?

Hi! I'm having a right nightmare trying to get my 3 month old Z Flip 6 repaired. I was lying in bed scrolling when the main folding screen suddenly developed green pixel lines across it, then died - it's now black with green pixels visible, and flashes white on occasion. There are no signs of any damage.

I sent it in to be repaired with EE, who claim there is liquid damage and are quoting me £850 to repair it. I have declined this as they are unable to show me proof that the photos they have taken, showing liquid damage, actually belong to my device. I do have Samsung Care + and I have submitted a claim via them.

My query is, does it seem likely that the apparent water damage affected only the main screen, and nothing else? The charging port worked just fine, the external small screen worked just fine, I was playing games with the small screen while waiting to drop it off for repair. It seems suspicious to me that they've sent photos of an unrecognisable device with significant water damage and yet only one screen is affected by it. Anyone else have this experience?

Edited to add, the phone has not been exposed to any liquid at all to my knowledge - and it is with me 24/7.

Thx phone will have indicators in various places that if water should get into any parts. The indicators will identify this.
This then voids warranty.
Obviously I'm not there and have no idea what condition the phone is in etc.
But you can try to see if you can get a second opinion.

It just depends on where water would get in to what gets affected.
But a screen failing in 3 months would be unusual.
At least you have insurance and can get the repair done

Hi
Did you apply Uv screen protector on it, if yes then the glue goes inside to the screen sometimes and the service center consider it as liquid/ water damage

Hi! No, no screen protectors applied at all.

Thanks! I've kindly asked EE to return the phone in the exact same condition it was sent to them in, so I can go through Samsung Care +. I'm confused as to how water/liquid got in when I've not exposed it to anything, but if there is liquid damage then obviously it happened somehow.

My main point is confusion is how EE can't show me photos proving the water damage happened to my phone - the photos are of a random phone interior, with no proof it even belongs to a Z Flip 6 yet alone my specific device, and there seems to be corrosion everywhere - so it seems strange to me that the battery, charging port, speakers, and front screen would still work amazingly.

Most unusual. I'm not sure how they access to see the water damage indicators
They can also plug in diagnostic equipment.
I do find it suspicious it's got corrosion inside in a shorts pace of time.
Unless it was exposed to salt water or chlorinated water. But you would definitely have known about this.
Maybe see if the insurance repair agent can give you more information on that
