I agree this is frustrating! An iPhone is not really customizable and that was the fun of Samsung. I knew who was texting or what email or app notification sounded. Now it's becoming more and more general and it's boring! Samsung needs to bring it back!

Thanks for this, this seems to be a challenge every time!

I'm having same problem. Can't set a different notification sound for different apps. Yes, I tried all the suggestions on this thread..... all I want is to have a different sound for incoming text messages, Ring notifications, and another alarm app notification, so I can respond with measured responses. My setup allows me to choose a different sound for each of these apps, and to set a default sound for everything else. Frustrated to say the default sound is all I ever hear. Should I remove that?
I have a S23+ with all the latest updates.
Thank you, Larry

Det lättaste sättet att hitta den avgörande inställningen var att söka " Hantera aviseringskategorier för varje app" i Inställningar. Då kommer man direkt till den funktionen. Sen går man in och ändrar ljud i varje app.
Samsungs gränssnitt är verkligen inte intuitivt. Men det är väl meningen att man ska lära sig mödosamt så att man fortsätter att köpa Samsung. Så låser man in sina kunder...
Translation: The easiest way to find the crucial setting was to search for "Manage notification categories for each app" in Settings. That takes you directly to that feature. Then you go in and change the sound in each app.
Samsung's interface is really not intuitive. But I guess that's what it's supposed to be, you have to learn it the hard way so that you keep buying Samsung. That's how you lock in your customers...
