New Fold 5 Screen Issue

Hi all, (long 'ish read,sorry!) ..received my fold 5 on Friday with my watch 6 and as we were due out traveling for the weekend, quickly set it up transferring my stuff from my fold 3. Hadn't used the phone and Saturday noticed some small dents in the inside screen,4 on left side and 2 on right. Really hard to photograph or video due to reflections but tried (pic attached) and contacted live chat.lost contact with them and continued the live chat Sunday, 1 and 1/2 hours later and got through to a 3rd operative who welcomed me and then didn't reply for 22 minutes! (No apology after either)

I requested a replacement phone as I don't think it's acceptable. (I had the bubbling screen protector fold crease issues on the fold 3 that was replaced after 2nd attempt,they sent it back first time with a clearly broken protector🙄) I tried explaining that I can't send my fold 3 trade in on time (14 days) as I'll have no phone and can't transfer my stuff over again without a new replacement phone but the operative didn't understand. Do you think I should just keep this one? I like to keep my devices really looked after and I find the whole Samsung chat/customer support stressful, I also phoned today to extend my trade in time but couldn't understand the operative very well and she couldn't confirm over the phone I can delay sending my 3 in as trade.

It's just a shout out to check your 5 with screen off in the light for any similar issues,it looks like tiny finger nail dents under the protector or could be dust I guess. Apologies for long read, these phones are expensive and should be perfect surely.

Yea that's not great is it. If I where you just return the phone and reorder it. If your happy with your old fold keep it. If you want the latest and greatest then return and reorder. Definitely don't want to make the mistake of sending in a brand new phone for repair. I did this with my iPhone 14 pro max and it gave me nothing but issues afterwards hence why I'm now on an s23 ultra.

Thanks Ash, I didn't expect to upgrade really as didn't think the 5 was too much better but the camera is and slightly lighter but not enough to be a deal breaker..I wanted the watch 6 and the overall discounts helped.
My 3 didn't seem the same after it's screen protector change strangely! Thanks for your reply.. Hope the 23 is good!

My fold 4 just cracked up the fold line the other day absolutely gutted as paid alot for it out my own pocket I don't do contracts! Had it under a year still like new but it's like bubbled and cracked loads small like vien cracks across it from the big middle screen I just seen all the new fold 5s splitting after just 4 days that's scary so think I'll hold off on a z fold 5 might see if can get mine fixed but can't find receipt as moved home recently and thought I'd put it with the rest of the documents but not there so pretty much screwed as need proof of purchase for the repair!

I had a Fold 3 and there where little hair line cracks on the inner screen fold. This occurred after around 6 months and got worse as time went on. My carrier and Samsung didn't want to know and wanted to charge me £450 for a replacement screen. *****. I just kind of put up with it. Has anyone had the same issues with the Fold 4 or 5? The concept of a fold phone but I don't think the fold is durable. I've now gone to a S23ultra. I'm just curious really.

When unfolded the screen has a bright green line running across the top of my fold 5,  I take it to Samsung repair as I’ve only had it for 2months.  They noticed 2 pinhole dents on side of phone, similar to what you have..they continued to say that I most probably caused that damage and they will most probably charge me for a new screen.  I mean dosent even make sense, why the hell would I poke 2 holes on side of phone.  The phone was well taken of, as it’s very expensive,  no other damage to phone apart from the pinhole dents.  Any way  preA356, I would definitely get it replaced, (before you get the green line) and good for you for spotting the dents and thanks for posting,  I mean that’s the last thing I look for when getting a brand new phone, but I will be now.  I’ve sent my phone away,  I hope they replace screen under warranty, fingers crossed.
