I am aware that there have been other posts about this issue , but they ' re all either old , or just recommend the basic troubleshooting tips .
The thing is , during voice recordings on apps like Whatsapp , camera or the voice recordings app my microphone is completely fine . However , during voice calls ( AND when I test both microphones during the samsung members app ) my audio becomes completely muffled and hard to understand . People I call simply cannot hear me most of the time and I ' m just struggling to find more things to fix the problem ( This means it is not the other person ' s phone at fault as I can personally hear how muffled it is during the diagnostic test in the members app ) .
To be clear , there is nothing blocking the microphones , the problems began as soon as I received the new phone , straight out of the box and voice recordings sound fine even with my case on . I haven ' t put on a screen protector either .
I reported the issue to support , as I had problems with my fingerprint sensor too . They fixed the sensor ( meaning I did a factory reset , so that won 't help either ) , said everything was alright , and sent it back . ( This also means every update is as current as it can be ) . As expected , the microphone is still awful during calls .
I ' m just a bit frustrated at this point . I don ' t know what else to do . Is this really just how the microphone sounds during calls ? Are there settings automatically turned on that I ' m missing ? Any advice would be appreciated , and if there ' s already a discussion with an answer , I ' d really just loved to get this solved .
