I recently upgraded my Galaxy Z Fold 4 to One UI 7.0, and since the update, I have encountered a critical issue with the main foldable screen.
Upon unfolding the device, a brief static sound is emitted, followed by the main screen turning completely black. After this occurs, even switching back to the front (cover) screen does not restore functionality. The device becomes unresponsive, and I am only able to regain access by performing a forced restart using the Power + Volume Down button. I had tried to factory reset my phone and still I have the same issue.
This issue has significantly impacted the usability of the device, and I kindly request your immediate assistance in resolving this matter.

Subject: Critical Issue with Galaxy Z Fold 4 After One UI 7.0 Update - URGENT Assistance Required
To the Samsung Customer Support Team,
I am writing to express my severe disappointment and request an immediate resolution for a critical issue that has emerged on my Galaxy Z Fold 4 after I updated it to One UI 7.0.
The phone was working perfectly before the update, but since the upgrade, the problems have escalated. When I unfold the main screen, I hear a brief "static" or "cracking" sound, which is immediately followed by the screen going completely black. Initially, the external (cover) screen was still functional, but after some time, both screens have become unresponsive, rendering the device completely useless. The only temporary fix is to perform a forced restart by pressing the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.
The problems did not stop there. After a week, a serious issue with charging also started. When I connect the charger, the phone briefly shows that it has started charging but then disconnects in less than a minute, and this cycle repeats continuously.
I have already attempted to resolve the issue myself by performing a factory reset, but unfortunately, it did not solve either of the problems.
I have been a loyal and enthusiastic user of Samsung products, and this is what led me to purchase this flagship phone. However, this recent experience has severely impacted my trust. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will, regrettably, be forced to purchase a new phone from a competing brand, such as the new Honor Magic V5. I will also share my story and experience with this critical failure across all forums and social media platforms, so that other users are aware of the severity of this problem.
I urge you to take this complaint seriously and provide an urgent and definitive solution.
Sincerely,
[Mustafa yosaf]

Hi @Mj54,
Thank you for contacting Samsung UK Support. I’m truly sorry to hear about the distressing issues you’ve experienced with your Galaxy Z Fold4 following the One UI 7.0 update. We understand how frustrating it must be to have a device that was previously reliable now suffering from both screen blackout and charging interruptions. Please know we take your concerns seriously, and your feedback is valued deeply.
You've mentioned that upon unfolding, you hear a static/cracking sound and the screen goes completely black. Initially, the outer cover display remained functional but has since become unresponsive. Also, after approximately one week, the device momentarily registers charging and then disconnects repeatedly. You've performed a factory reset, which did not resolve the problems.
If your device still responds, it will be ideal for you to carry out a Remote Management session with our Support Team to see if they can identify the issues you've noted. If you're based in the UK, they can be contacted via phone on 0333 000 0333. They're available Monday-Friday between 8am-8pm, and over the weekend between 9am-6pm.
If you still have issues with both the screen and charging, we recommend a hardware inspection. You can arrange this here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/
