Galaxy Z Flip 7 screen not turning off after notifications

Hi!

I can't find any options on my Flip 7 to wake the screen (while folded and open) for a couple of seconds when i recieve a notification, then for it to "go back to sleep". It's really annoying for me to have to wake the screen and then make it fall a sleep again each time i get a notification i don't want to interact with.

I mean, every smartphone ever made works that way, besides the flip? It seems i only can choose for it not to wake at all, or stay awake until i interact with it.

Am i missing something?

It follows it's internal clock/timer and goes to sleep according to it as any good android app does. If you want immediate then manual intervention is needed
Assuming screen timeout is set under display

Thanks for the reply. There is no timer for the screen to go black. If i get a notification, the screen remains awake until i touch the screen. This goes on for hours if i don't touch it. I just want the screen to light up when i get a notification and then go black again after ~10 seconds if i don't pick up the phone - just like all other androids or iphones.

The screen timeout is for when the screen is to go to sleep when the phone is unlocked 15sec-10mins. It's not what i'm asking for.

@Teddylicious: Sadly it is not possible to enable the option to automatically wake your screen when a notification is received. As per the above, if you head to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display, and toggle this option ON, then notification icons will be visible without waking the screen, allowing you to make an informed choice about whether any action is required.

You can also head to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Lift to wake > On, and this will automatically turn on your display when you pick up your phone, for ease of access.

Thanks for the reply. The problem isn't awakining the screen when i get a notification, the issue is that the screen won't go black again if i don't interact with it. So if i have my phone next to me and let's say i'm busy playing a game, then the front screen will keep being awake until i decide to do something about it. I simply want it to go back to sleep again if i don't interact with it. Just like any other phone, really...

@Teddylicious: This might be the result of the style of Lock screen notification that you have currently selected. If you head to Settings > Notifications > Lock screen notifications, then select 'Icons' or 'Dot', does this help at all? Furthermore, tap the Back button > Notification pop-up style > Brief > Show even while screen is off > Toggle this option on.

Now, head to Settings > Cover screen > Cover screen timeout > Select 5 seconds

Thank you for that detailed answer - but sadly no, that did not help.

Do you know any way for me to turn off AOD but still wake the screen (for a few seconds) when i get notifications? That's basically what i'm looking for.
