My Flip4 was doing the exact same thing and after a while it had crashed my screen and my phone was unusable. I suggest calling the Samsung warranty centre to ask them for advice. for me I was told to send my phone away to the service centre where they fixed my phone completely thankfully! However I'm too scared to fold my phone anymore, even though it is completely fixed now, so I refuse to use the folding function. Hope your phone gets fixed soon!

Hello @thewuraola_

This does sound like the hinge may have an issue with it's mechanism or somehow some debris has managed to get inside.

A Samsung Service Centre will assess your phone for you.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Mine had exactly the same problem. Service centre say yes a manufacturing fault, covered by warranty but won't do it under warranty as I do not have original receipt. It is fully registered in my Samsung and shows as being covered by warranty till late 2024

If you're still having this issue or anyone else with this issue, I finally found a way to fix it.

The problem to start with is 1 side of the hinge brushes is coming off. The glue has heated up too much from the phone and is now caught between the gaps, stopping the phone opening to a full 180 degrees.

How I fixed mine was to use an old toothbrush and while the phone is closed brush up and down on the hinge side getting the brushes to slide down the gaps. Do this on both side and eventually the side with the loose brushes will start to poke through so you are able to pull them out.

Yes, this does remove the hinge brushes from 1 side but the phone now fully opens and no more damage is being done inside the hinge.

My Samsung fold 4 is going in for repair. It is broken at the inner fold and one side of the screen is green the other blank. Took to an ee shop and they were useless so hoping Samsung themselves will fix my phone. I have only had it since July 2023

My phone dies when I open the screen up. Front is working. I think Samsung should recall all the faulty fold 4s and replace the screens. I've had mime 1 year and just at the warranty is up... the phone dies.

I am experiencing same issue after 370 days of purchase. Taken to service center, they are advising to replace the screen out of warranty as warranty just expired 7 days before. I tried to understand service center technician, that some foreign particle is obstructing to open the screen by 180 degree, they are not listening to me.

I do feel the same, that some foreign particle or internal glue after heating up is obstructing to open 180 degrees. But brushing is not possible as there is very negligible space (gap) in hinge for brush hair to get into space where object is stuck. I am afraid that with time, screen may not turn off and leave some crack line, if i continue to use in this condition. (Opening 176 degrees)
