My fold blanks on opening.
Happened during normal use one day on opening.
I can use front screen, internal one blanks once past 10% opened.
Sent back to Samsung for warranty repair (phone 11 mnths okd) to be told I have to pay (£566) as screen is damaged.
How can a screen become damaged in normal use?
Contacting citizens advice.
There is no way I will ever purchase another Samsung.

Samsung would have placed a sticker on the screen to indicate where they have found damage which can include physical damage or a bump under the screen or pixel issues.

You can also ask for a second opinion from Samsung.

I assume you do not have any other forms of insurance to help with this such as Home Contents Insurance or some Bank Accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.

Unfortunately accidental damage is not covered under the Limited 2 Year Manufacturing Warranty.

I wish you well with what avenue of resolution you choose from this point @nellyhawks

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Would this be covered by manufacturer warranty under 2 year uk scheme? Same thing has happened to me, never dropped.

That's what I was expecting tbh.
The fact the screen blanked when I opened it fully seemed to be a fault in the fold mechanism.
Shocked with Samsung tbh
Will never use again.
I have a £2000 phone that is u/s through no fault of my own.
Shocking
