I think they may accept a minor cosmetic scratch or two, but anything that looks even remotely like it is impact related, I.e a small dink rather than a scratch, and they have been less than accommodating with the warranty.
Thankfully I haven't yet had any run ins with warranty... but then again I haven't (yet) owned a folding phone.
In my opinion glass screens aren't meant to be folded by the laws of science and physics, but somehow as technology and production methods have improved, then flexible glass has become a thing.
However due to those risks I think the £5-10 a month for accidental insurance is well worth the spend with such phones.
Although I personally haven't owned a fold phone, I am actually very keen to get a fold 6. Additionally the reliability of the phones have come on quite a way in the past two generations. Fingers crossed i don't have any issues.
