So i have had my flip 5 for 11 months coming to 12. I took my phone in to get a screen protector replacement before I hit a year as it has started to get bubbles at the hinge. I have some damage to the screen at the top left and top half middle. Not major sized , just a pin size peirce at the top left and some dead pixels in the top middle. Samsung refused to change the screen protector as it would cause further damage to the screen and said I have to pay £350 to replace the whole screen.

As the screen protector peeling off is a manufacturers fault and not consumer, should Samsung do what ever it takes to fix the protector if that includes changing the screen ? Just curious how that would play out considering warranty

Hi and welcome, I understand where you are coming from. The problem is that the screen protector is part of the screens structure, if they pull it off they are concerned they might cause more damage to the screen underneath which might result in the screen fully failing.

If that happens you would expect them to replace the screen which costs a lot more than just the screen protector. Most brands are the same, once a product has been damaged by the consumer or modified they refuse to even service the product. Rolex for example will refuse to even service a watch if you have had diamonds mounted on the strap.

It's unfortunate but it looks like you will have to pay for a new screen, sorry if it isn't what you wanted to hear.

You don't need a new screen. If its the screen protector only that needs changing then buy a hydrogel screen protector and fit it yourself, really easy to do and the one I fitted has been on for months and not had any issues, samsung refused to fit one to mine also, they make a lot of promises over the flip phones about how they will look after the customers but in reality they look for any excuse to avoid helping in any way they can, don't believe a word samsung says about replacement screen protectors at all. They look for the slightest mark on a screen protector and tell you the screen underneath is damaged and tell you the screen needs replacing. So just carefully peel the existing protector off and put the hydrogel one on, cheap and easy fix, but samsung shoukd stand by their word and change the protector but they don't. Shocking way to treat customers that spend a LOT of money on the products

I don't know about the flip 5 screen but samsung quite happily replaced my flip 4 screen for me on 2 occasions and then also replaced my screen under warranty absolutely no issues found them extremely helpful

I'll have to agree with you here, honestly I told everyone I do not regret getting this phone ,And honestly I don't because it's been such a good and new experience, but as a loyal customer who has a flip 5, watch 6 classic, earbuds even my previous a53 along with 3 more a53/4 in the house hold. I'd expect them to look after a loyal customer. Guess I might need to move to the Google fold next or even Motorola one. But thanks for the tip! Booked a appointment for Tuesday, and gonna try talk to the technician again, if not Ima do it my self

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous, I'd understand if it was major damage to the screen, but as someone who's studying electrical and electronic engineering, I know for a fact that it will not damage the screen further. And as a trained technician they should also know this, if they refuse to change it, I'll do it my self and go back to show then

It honestly sounds like a excuse to try avoid changing the screen protector all together, are they not confident to in Thier trained technicians? I'm not even asking to get my screen repaired, but I didn't pay 1k to be stuck with bubble screen protector after less then a year

Try getting them to replace it again still inside the 2 year warranty , no sorry screennis damaged the screennneeds replaced. Not. Samsung live by their reputation, it takes a hammering when they refuse to help customers..poor service with the flips, hence why I no longer have a flip
