Hi and welcome, I understand where you are coming from. The problem is that the screen protector is part of the screens structure, if they pull it off they are concerned they might cause more damage to the screen underneath which might result in the screen fully failing.
If that happens you would expect them to replace the screen which costs a lot more than just the screen protector. Most brands are the same, once a product has been damaged by the consumer or modified they refuse to even service the product. Rolex for example will refuse to even service a watch if you have had diamonds mounted on the strap.
It's unfortunate but it looks like you will have to pay for a new screen, sorry if it isn't what you wanted to hear.
