Hi everyone, My phone has started to crease at he middle where the phone foldable. I sent it to Samsung service and after 1.5 week one of the approved Samsung engineer said: we would like to inform you that your device will not be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and therefore will be a chargeable repair.

They want to charge me for £309 repair fee. This is crazy!

The phone has cover since new and never dropped it off. 6 months old phone and crease on the middle. Very ANGRY and DISAPPOINTED about customer service and SAMSUNG I am sure Samsung won't admit this factory issue because it would be a suicide. I am going to left Samsung after 15 years.

They said impact damage but I didn't do anything with it.
I sent many emails to them with many photos to explain it wasn't dropped or accident but they just sent the previous email they sent back to me again.

I'm looking for information to start a class action lawsuit.  This defect and samsung's denial of responsibility is unacceptable.

Why did you remove the protector ? You should have left it on.

I'm certain, Samsung would have honoured the warranty but since you have removed the protecter they won't wanna know now.

It's a pain proving it's defective should have asked to speak someone who's actually got some authority not some Samsung so called tech support who have been trained to read of a script.

I am having a very similar problem. My wife was using her phone whilst in bed, closed it and put it down. When she picked it up again there was a solid white line about 5mm above the fold, and the top screen was unresponsive. Sent it to Samsung (TMT) and received a quote last night for £309 for "out of warranty" damage to the screen.

I asked them for photographs as I was expecting this, having had a similar issue with my Galaxy Tab 7, when they claimed the screen was cracked but I know it wasn't. They sent me photos of the phone where there are a few scratches on the only part of the phone that is not protected by a case. They also sent me a photograph showing a scratch across the camera, but it is a scratch on the factory fitted protector that is still on the phone. Neither of these (in my opinion) would cause a problem with the screen, but they are refusing to repair.

I contacted BBC Watchdog last night regarding this because it seems to me that there is clearly a design flaw with this phone and Samsung are refusing to address it.

I will never buy a Samsung product again after the two bad experiences I have had with them. I used to be an iPhone user, and if this had been an iPhone I know their customer service centre would have repaired / replaced this phone.

It seems that Samsung are not interested in their customers and once they have your money they done care

Samsung would not have honoured the warranty. The "warranty" is worthless
