Same thing, I've had mine 4 months, really looked after it and I've woken up with the crack down the middle.
Absolutely gutted..........
I wonder if this is the reason for new 3s rollout so quickly after the 5g??

Exact same thing has happened to mine and I have not even had the phone 3 months yet. Never been dropped and has had a cover on since day one. Samsung want £297 to replace the screen as they said the crack was due to "physical damage". Absolutely a manufacturing defect and Samsung refusing to do anything! Last Samsung product I'll be buying and will revert to an iPhone!!

Ours broke about 3 months in (9 months ago) and they replaced the phone under warranty no problem. Brand new phone and so far no issues with the screen. Really surprised to hear that they are turning down any phones under warranty for this issue. Clearly it is a design or materials defect that they are well aware of. I have two more weeks until out of warranty. Hope it doesn't happen again. Otherwise we've really liked the phone and haven't had any other problems.

I am exactly experiencing it now, it happened so randomly I haven’t even had it for a year! Got it last April 2021. This phone sucks!

Hi, the same problem here. Samsung is not taking any responsibility claiming that it was me who damaged the phone. Maybe we should all ask some youtubers to act for us?

This is ridiculous. I had the phone for 5 months and exact same thing happened after using wireless charger. Sent it back as it's still under warranty and now they just called and tried to make me pay to get this fixed. It's not the design fault at all!!! Everyone must have damaged the phones in the SAME way to make them break in the SAME area (around the fold area).

I had almost the same problem. Started with a few hairline cracks. Over a few weeks they became bigger, longer, and darke. then started to bubble at edges, then they started to work way towards center. I dreaded finding out me repair options and anticipated a fight to get it fixed. Or doing without my phone for awhile. Especially after reading so many comments and seeing photos of exact same thing. But got bad enough I had to do something. Instead of calling, I opted to take it into the Xfinity store I bought it from. He looked at it for a minute, then stuck his fingernail up along edge as if to try and peel off what I thought was a baked on screen protector. I interrupted and told him not to do that, that it was fused. While I was talking, he peeled off a thin piece of plastic. It came on the phone and had never been removed. You CANNOT tell it's there. Phone was good as new. He said it happens all the time, they started putting it on awhile ago. He said it happens people think it is damaged all of the time. Had it on his fold and his wife's flip. I had shown it to my son-in-law and some other techs, they all said it's the phone and they'd never buy one. Turns out it was very thin plastic. Anyway, not saying it isn't the phone, but you may want to check. I was elated, and tech acquaintances we're quite surprised!
