Hi so about a week ago I noticed my voice notes on WhatsApp weren't recording audio and instead just plain silence, I tried this on ig and also on the voice recorder app and its the same, no audio gets picked up. However, videos pick up the audio fine. I have tried cleaning my phone, taking the case off, restarting the phone and everything updated, no Bluetooth devices are connected. I have a Flip Z 3 5g
Please help !

I've been experiencing the same issue on my A54 5g. I've bought it with an authorized seller, brand-new, back in Jun 2023. I noticed it after the last major update to UI 6 by the end of Nov 2023. It's really, really annoying. I already tried factory reset, but it didn't work. Problem still persists.

Same here, on my Galaxy M54. It's been happening randomly, when I record audio messages on Whatsapp, Telegram or other messaging apps. It started ever since I updated to Android 14, ONEUI 16, versions: M54BXXU3BWL1/ M546BOWO3BWL1/ M546BXXU3BWL1.

I contacted Samsung Support Germany via Chat. That was a bad experience. They cannot connect to external webpages like eu.community.samsung.com, so I couldn´t use the references of this thread here. They believed it´s a third party problem suggested to use the Samsung Members App 🙄.
I´ll do that and ecourage people to do the same:
"With the Samsung Members App, you can send a bug report directly from your Samsung Galaxy to our development department.
Proceed as follows:
1. open the Samsung Members App.
2. tap on "Support" at the bottom right
3. then select "Bug reports" a little further down.
4. tap on the appropriate category.
5. enter a short but informative feedback here, and please make sure that the checkbox "Send system log data" is checked.
6. tap the arrow at the top right to send the message.
Thank you for helping us to fix the bug."

Thanks richfreiburg for the very useful info. I think if more people report this issue through that app, Samsung may realise it's a lot worse than they think, get off their behinds and do something about it.
I have the Samsung Members app and reported this issue to Samsung a number of weeks ago. They returned with a response telling me to hold down these buttons until this happens, then let go, then press the volume down button, then the power button, then do the macarena (that's how the instructions felt 😁) which only managed to get the phone turning off and on, and off and on - a rather frustrating experience. I then called the support line in South Africa, and after another frustrating almost hour on the phone, managed to resolve absolutely nothing.
I confess, I find Samsung's explanation of it being a "third party problem" problematic in itself, when it seems any application that has the facility to send a voice note is affected. If it was a third party issue, to my mind, it would be a specific app with a problem, and not all of them. WhatsApp is run by Meta, Telegram is run by Telegram Group Inc., and Signal is run by a non-profit called Signal Messenger LLC; Samsung wants us to believe the problem lies with these 3 third party providers (and possibly more, those are just the ones I use regularly) and not Samsung's UI. Hmmm...I'm finding that a tough pill to swallow. I totally agree with your eyeroll on this point richfreiburg 😊

I have the same problem here with my new A54 5G.
Nearly 1 out of 7 voice recordings will be quiet! What should we do?

I'm checking this thread literally everyday to see whether someone got a solution for this annoying issue and today I can finally confirm (hopefully) that the problem is solved with February Update so far, I tried many apps and the diagnostic test and it seems to be working fine!

Same issue at me, Samsung doesn't bother to find a solution for this.
