One troubleshooting step is to dial *#0*# and this will bring up a number of tests to try.
One is various colour panels to cycle through to see if that jolts any stuck pixels into working.
If not then this issue could be a fault between the ribbon that connects the display to the motherboard, which will need a Samsung Service Centre to assess.
Samsung applies a Limited 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty, that covers non accidental damage.
If a person has not got Samsung Care+ to extend the warranty, then Samsung may levy a fee to repair if the phone js beyond that 2 years.
Other options could be standalone cover already purchased, Home Contents Insurance, or some bank accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.
