Why does my phone app have ads?

I purchased a s25 ultra and am shocked that when I end a call, I get a call summary page that contain ads. I am paying for the phone and my plan. Shouldn't that be enough for Samsung?

Is there a setting to avoid the call summary page altogether?

Is there a free phone app with no ads?

I'm wondering if this has something to do with your network @Grubb00

Or an app you've downloaded.

Samsung phone's don't have ads preloaded into them ,and they only send things of possible interest if a person opts in when first setting up the phone.

Try Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I ran it in safe mode and did not have the issue. When I restarted it in normal mode, the first thing that happened was an error message for the app that was putting the add up. I removed the app and seems like that fixed it.

Sorry to but in here, but if I am not wrong that isn't a Official Samsung app. Judging by the not responding screen, an official app wouldn't have a # at the start and it wouldn't take you to a messages app after a call, it would take you back to either the keypad, home screen or Recents screen. And that just isn't a real app. Try going into Settings > Apps and then look through there and Uninstall any apps that are not Samsung official. The apps won't have weird characters like # etc, and will be likely Uninstallable if they are fake, as you can't uninstall default apps. Hope i helped, I am happy to help if I see anything (don't know how members app handles message replies!) 🙏 wishing you luck from UK 🇬🇧

Also just for reference this is how the apps should show after a call. This is One UI 6.1 and not 7, but there won't be any ads or weird characters in the app name, and most importantly it will be a clean UI 😉1739226603124.jpg

Had the same problem too but turns out that viber caller id causes ads to appear. Turn caller id on viber off so no ads will show every call summary

Hi, I had the same problem. I downloaded a calendar app which seems to have caused the issue, I deleted the app which has solved the problem
