Voice note in messenger app without holding button down

Hello all
I've recently upgraded to a S25 ultra. My partner also has a samsung phone and in her messenger app, when sending a voice note, she can just press the button once and it opens a bit down the bottom where she can record and send without having to hold the button down. This feature was there on the phone in store that i played with before i purchased also (forgot to ask how to enable it)
Can anyone help me with this ?

Messenger such as facebook messenger is down to meta, not Samsung. Unless you mean regular samsung messages? Ive just checked and I dont need to hold anything down- just press *to the right of thr message box

What app do want to use it with? Not all apps support and if they do there are different approaches. In whatsapp you hold the mic button and slide up to lock in position. Viber too

yes, im talking about the regular samsung app when sending text messages. that little squiggly line to the right of the message box...i have to hold it down to reconrd.  My partner can just click it once and then record a voice note without holding it down, as well as the phone i tried in the shop

Hm- I simply press it and then can toggle recordings off/on

so i just updated my app it now looks the same as yours...still have to hold the button down to record though.

Does it look like * image once pressed on? I have the ability to hold *and then drag left to lock. Or tap on it- then press record as image shows

What happens when you try? It should work the same, as mentioned, no need to hold to record
