Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Video Playback Issue – Frustrating Glitch That Requires a Restart

I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra where videos refuse to play in both browsers and apps. Whether it’s YouTube, Netflix, or even embedded videos in Chrome, they simply won’t load or start buffering endlessly. The only temporary fix? Restarting the phone—an inconvenience that shouldn’t be necessary on a flagship device.

This issue seems to be a recurring software glitch rather than a network problem, as my internet connection is stable. Clearing cache, updating apps, and tweaking settings haven’t provided a permanent fix. It’s disappointing to see such an advanced device struggle with something as basic as video playback. Samsung needs to address this with a software update as soon as possible. Until then, restarting remains the only workaround, which is far from ideal.

Has anyone else encountered this? Hopefully, Samsung is aware and working on a fix.

Same issue here, I think.

Videos will not play in Netflix app or Disney+ app, or videos embedded in browser. YouTube app works perfectly well.

For me, restarting does not fix, even temporarily.

I did the reset cache thing and everything started working again.

Then all videos stopped working again about 3 hours late.

Samsung denying this problem is not helping. They just need to say they will fix it, or I will return the phone.

Good Day,

I seem to have figured out the issue: its the RAM Plus!

I had it disabled just before I start having the video issue, mostly to minimize battery drain.

Yesterday I enabled it again, and so far so good 👌

Update: The issue came back again, I handed the phone to the customer care for a "motherboard" replacement as they said!

For me, no more Samsung anymore!

I have experienced the same problem and worked to find a solution as being able to record a video and share from my S25 Ult is a critical use case to demonstrate to a manufacturer issues w/ their product.

The solution for my issue w/ the S25 video mp4 sharing was to download and install the 'VideoProc Converter AI ' video processing / convert s/w - https://www.videoproc.com/  - and convert the recorded MP4 video to HD H264 [seemed to be redundant to what didn't work]. The results in at least 3 instances was successful pointing to an issue w/ the S25 record / save software. r/ Steve

So I have exactly the same issue but seemingly found a random fix. It seems it was a peripheral device causing the issue. I tracked it down to a pair of wired headphones (supplied by Samsung) that was causing my video to not play (or play in one frame per minute). Unplugging the headset and then attempting to play the video again seems to completely solve the issue. Hope this helps!

Cheers, Steve
