Terrible battery life, I'm desperate!

What am I doing wrong? Ever since I bought this phone, I've had battery issues. Three weeks ago, I did a factory reset—without using SmartSwitch. I'm using two SIM cards, I have the latest software from March. AOD is turned off. I tried using Light mode, turned off the second SIM, turned off 5G. Still getting terrible battery life. I also tried other apps to measure usage, but none of them show what's draining the battery. When I add up all the percentages shown in the "Since last charge" stats, they definitely don't add up to the percentage that's actually been drained from the battery.

I tried optimizing in Device Care, also used Galaxy App Booster and all possible battery optimization tools via Good Guardians. I also wiped the partition cache twice. Previously, I had the S25, and it lasted longer, even though I installed stuff via SmartSwitch 😄 I really don't know anymore—can you still suggest something I could try?

I haven't mentioned yet that the phone is on Wi-Fi most of the time, and I feel like it drains the most when I'm not using it.
😞

Hello 👋 @efitko

I certainly understand that you are trying to get to the bottom of this.

Can you try Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ to see if that helps highlight anything.

Also using two sim cards will use more battery as the phone is then maintaining two connections.

May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Oops @BandOfBrothers said that already

I also mentioned that I tried disabling the second SIM – it has now been turned off for 4 days, and the issue still persists.

I've probably searched everything and couldn't find anything that would help me. That's the reason why I'm writing all this.

Ok @efitko

The next logical step would be to let a Samsung Service Centre have hands on.

Hi.
To save battery life I keep my phone on Light Mode, you can find this on Device Care App.
I also attached screenshots with my settings on Good Guardians.
In addition, I advise to visit Device Care often and perform Optimise System Now, if the phone requires it.
It's good to use Device Care and Good Guardians to wipe the memory from time to time because residues from apps consume battery as well.
The apps that consume mostly are Mobile Data, keep it off as often as you can when you don't use it, camera and video calls. Picture and video editor also costumes battery, painting and creating AI art as well.
Using the Speakers to listen to music or watch videos also consume alot of battery.
This phone has better battery than previous phones, but when it's only used on mobile data it consumes alot of battery.
Even if you did Wipe Cache Partition from Recovery Mode, if something still drains battery it's good to go in Settings > Apps and wipe the Cache manually for every app.
Sometimes I have mystery battery drain as well, but the phone recovers itself after a few days or or a couple of weeks.1743538267906.jpg1743538267919.jpg1743538267928.jpg1743538267939.jpg

"When I add up all the percentages shown in the "Since last charge" stats, they definitely don't add up to the percentage that's actually been drained from the battery."

I experienced something similar a few weeks ago with my S25 Ultra battery, although the drain wasn't as severe as yours. I also noticed the listed app percentages didn't add up to the total battery used. For example, on one day, my battery dropped 61%, but the apps listed only accounted for roughly 16% of that usage, and the screen time per app didn't match the total either.
Interestingly, my battery life returned to being very decent all by itself. This was before I installed the March update, cleared the system cache and used Galaxy App Booster.

Like you, I use two SIMs. However, I'm in a poor signal area at home (often 0-1 bars). To prevent the battery drain caused by the phone constantly searching for a signal for both SIM's, I keep Airplane Mode ON and use Wi-Fi Calling whenever I'm connected to Wi-Fi. If your SIMs support Wi-Fi Calling and you have Wi-Fi available in areas with poor mobile signal, I recommend enabling Airplane Mode and using Wi-Fi Calling to potentially save battery.

Here are some settings I have configured that might contribute to better battery life:

* Nearby Device Scanning - OFF
* Wi-Fi 7 Mode - OFF (Connectivity Labs in Intelligent Wi-Fi)
* NFC - OFF
* Storage Share - OFF
* Camera Share - OFF
* Dark Mode - ON
* Adaptive Brightness - OFF
* Adaptive Battery - ON
* Put Unused Apps To Sleep - ON (My settings: 47 Deep Sleep, 0 Sleeping, 29 Never Auto Sleep)
* Extra Brightness - OFF (Indoors)
* Always On Display - OFF
* Power Saving During Bedtime - ON (Scheduled 23:30 - 06:15)
* Mobile Hotspots - OFF
* Screen Timeout - 1 Minute
* Customisation Service - OFF
* Wi-Fi Scan Throttling - ON
* Auto Rotate - OFF
* Send Diagnostic Data - OFF (System-wide and within individual app settings)
Additionally, I limit background data gathering, primarily for privacy reasons, by turning off things like Digital Wellbeing and various data collection settings within Google and other services. While privacy is the main goal, reducing this background activity might offer a small battery life improvement.

On the other hand, there are also many settings I have turned on that could increase battery drain. I always keep Bluetooth ON (for my Galaxy Watch) and Location ON. I also use QHD+ resolution, Adaptive Refresh Rate, the Standard performance profile, maximum vibration intensity, allow multiple S Pens, and have touch screen sensitivity enabled just to name a few.

When I set up my phone I restored all the data saved to my Samsung Cloud apart from apps. I manually installed them all instead. I did this to avoid Smart Switch which to be honest is just partly superstition from me as I think back to my experience on my S21 Ultra in the months after it's launch. But also I find it's a good way to cut the unnecessary/unused apps from accumulating as I tend to just download the apps I really need when setting up my new phone.
