Quite disappointed that Samsung hasn't put out a security software update since December for the s25 series and it's well into February.

They are seriously behind in regards to contingency with the flagship devices with software updates.

You miss the point. Security software updates are due every 1st of the month, regardless of the device release date.

Upon release we should have get January patch at the very least.

The point is not about one ui 7 but about security matter.

Android security patches are released every month. The least a manufacturer can do is release security updates on time. Bug fixing and feature release is another story.

So samsung failed to release January and February security updates on time.

I don't miss the point.
Not even my Google Pixels I've had, and still have one get the security patch at the start of the month every time.
Sometime they don't get the updates till the middle of the month.
And Google make and produce the Pixel and the software

Then Google is as s****y as Samsung, no excuse for Samsung to set its level on the poorest...

Jan patch is overdue. Feb patch will be in 2 weeks...

Vulns:

  • A vulnerability in Platform that could allow for escalation of privilege. (CVE-2025-0094)

OK so thinking about this logically......

Samsung developers are clearly sitting at home watching TV.

Samsung management team support delays to software releases.

Samsung as a company don't give two hoots about your devices.

REALLY PEOPLES?

It is not in Samsung's interests to hold back or slow down software or security patches AT ALL. They will be very keen to get the updates out as soon as they are updated, tried and tested and made sure they are stable.

For all those would-be software developers out there @Robini @jiyh and others, think about what you are saying from a logical point of view for once.

Also, as has been advised above, this is a Customer to Customer Forum not Samsung Customer Services so please respect that fact. We all come on here on our own time, for no financial rewards as we simply want to try our best to help others. 🙏

Nobody said it's in their interest to do that. Nobody said it's a conspiracy to not release update on time.

I'm just saying they are badly managing how they release security updates, that's all. Nothing more behind it. I don't care if it's incompetency or poor management or oversight. It's just not up to standards.

Yes it has been developed from the ground up.

Remember, Samsung Members Stars also gain insights from the company so we get to better understand. @Glenntech, myself and @Obsydian went to Samsung Unpacked 2025 and we were given plenty of insight on the work that goes in to creating the device in your hands.

It was quite an eye opener and not based on the concept that "it was on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube so it must be true".

So you want them to release software updates before they are tried and tested to ensure they work for the millions of users on dozens of different devices?

Is that what you want?

I don't

Software sometimes needs refinements. On top of the Google patches, samsung will need to make sure all versions of One UI need to be compatible with it. Even minor patch updates.
Not everyone with say a Galaxy S24 Ultra will have updated their UI software.
Non of us are experts here and getting irrational is pointless
My phone works fine with or without the latest update
Equally not every vulnerability will affect every device.
Probably why some manufacturers only update 2 to 4 times a year
We are lucky that Samsung update every month regardless as they are a quality brand
