I sure this helps the poster very much. For £270 you can buy a midrange mirrorless second hand camera but if you are into the professional picture taking and filming you still need a third party app and the camera's native app to edit, but it depends on the purpose anyway.
There are ways you could get around it free with open source tools like Kdenlive and Shotcut with MCTools but they aren't nearly as easy/powerful as Divinci Resolve.
A dedicated device will always be best but those needing a more lightweight setup it's an option.
It's free to use go ahead. I found it decades ago as it was the best editor on Linux at the time due to being used in industry. From there it's just grown into the industry standard now outside of places traped in the Adobe eco system. Their Blackmagic Video Cameras are incredible if not eye-wateringly expensive.

Plenty of tutorials on YouTube but it will have a learning curve. If you like colour grading it's heaven.
