I've read the similar (closed) posts on this issue. I tried NFC ONCE when I first got the phone and it worked. I also had a software update a few days ago - not sure if that made a difference or not. But NFC is flaky crud now. MAYBE once in 10-20 tries it will sense a card and emit a beep, but the reads always say they are corrupted. I am NOT trying to use NFC for payment - rather trying to add cards to Samsung Pay using the "tap" method or using various APPS I have for reading NFC tags. Yes, I know where the reader is located and that's not it. Yes, I checked and NFC is enabled. I was about to do a full reset until I read in other threads that is not helpful for this issue. Hopefully someone san suggest something. Why I traded up my S22 Ultra (which worked flawlessly), I'll never know!

OK - after speaking with Samsung Pay support (about a different notification issue), they had me delete the Samsung Wallet APP and re-add it. That action, for whatever reason, SEEMS to have resolved the NFC read issue I was having. The placement of the card is FAR more sensitive that it ever was on the S22 Ultra, and often multiple attempts are required for read success, but at least I can get it to work. The number of attempts of locating the proper read position is, to me, unacceptable. But it seems to be a case of it is what it is! At this point I guess the issue is resolved. I do thank both members who tried to help me!

Hello 👋 @TM in Madison
Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.
May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within.
There is a diagnostic tool found in the Samsung Members App to see if that highlights anything.
A person can try troubleshooting steps such as >
And in Settings > General Management > Reset > There are various Reset options.
I'm using Google Wallet so cannot test this on my phone.
You could ask Samsung directly via the feedback section in the Samsung Members App.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I did search and found an almost identical issue, but that solution did not help and the thread was closed, so I felt I needed to open a new one. And I have already tried the diagnostics. I've also used the feedback of the members app before with frustration being the only result. Last time I asked the chat help (resulting in remote control help) for assistance they had me reset notifications and I'm still dealing with the fallout from that action, although the issue still remains as well. I do fear my device may be defective. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the reply.

Where is that closed thread on this forum(s) ?
NFC works fine for what it is designed. Your approach seems to be on the experimental side more

The thread I was referring to is here (NFC Interference?) It appears I CAN post a reply (that is, it it not closed) - I was initially viewing it (and a couple of others you can see in the "related content" to the right of that post before I was logged in and therefore no reply option was visible. My error as a posting newbie, and I do apologize for it.
As far as my use of the NFC feature being more experimental - I would beg to differ. Samsung Pay (a device manufacturer service accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen) supports a "tap to add" payment card (whcih clearly uses the NFC function to read a credit card and input much of the required information to add that card to your pay account) - so I would not find the ability to read and display NFC data as being at all experimental. And, NFC does NOT for fine on my S25 Ultra. It DID work great for reading credit card NFC and even reading passport NFC data using several APPs from the store on my S22 Ultra. And even with that device, I never used it to actually pay at a POS station - I didn't realize that was its supported/design intent sole purpose!
I do understand a factory reset may (or may not) resolve the issue. I will probably have to go that route but if I do, I'm not sure I can restore data I've backed up without potentially restoring whatever corruption is currently preventing the NFC from working. And if I can't restore everything... OUCH!
The fact that I did get ONE clean read in my recent tests and an occasional beep when attempting reads since the software update tells me it can work rather than just dead. It would seem to me more like a short in the electronics of the NFC cicuits, or some software supressing proper function. The prior would be a hardware fault - the latter software probably fixed by a factory reset. Of course, a factory reset is something I wish to avoid, and I do suspect once I restore everything, my issue may return if it is some form of software (APP) corruption. In my troubleshooting attempts, I did delete all APPs I downloaded from the Play Store that use NFC, restarted and tried the Samsung Pay tap to add function and since then I have had no response to read attempts of cards. Running diagnostics from the members app or from the settings area (seems to be the same diagnostics) tests NFC as the third test and both give green check marks. And I did take it out of the case for testing!

I have the same issue, delete g and adding Samsung Wallet is not working out for me, I'm still struggling to top up my cashless card, while it works flawlessly on my S23 Ultra. Really appreciate for a more robust solution to this issue.

solved also my problem on S25U
