S25 Ultra Issues

I recently got my S25 Ultra.

And have a number of issues.

1. Fingerprint reader sometimes doesn't show up and I have to tap the screen for it to appear.

2.The touch, especially in photos folders, is often really laggy.

3. Sometimes turning it off (screen off) it does this really weird thing where it kinda darkens the screen and the icons show, all in like half a second.

Not had issues like this on previous models.

It's all up to date. Rebooted etc.

For number 1 on your list, see screenshot.

For 2 and 3... Check and try the basics:

- all software and apps up to date
- try clearing cache partition
- optional: get good guardians from Galaxy store and get App booster, give that a whirl.

Hi,

Mine is already set to always on display.

I've already tried the App Booster.

I haven't cleared cache,but will now.

The slow touch on the photo albums, it's still there. It's basically say after a while, the first one you press, it's so slow. Then after that, it's back to being normal.

Wait a bit, then same thing.

Hi @Chris781

Try wipe cache partition of the phone.

In settings > general management > reset > reset all settings

Try safe mode.

Hold power and volume down buttons simultaneously until it vibrates and Samsung logo appears.

Try turn on "touch sensitivity" in display settings

1. This point doesn't seem to be any different or unusual to the S25. Typically the fingerprint icon doesn't show unless you touch near the fingerprint sensor. In this regard I haven't seen or found anything different with the S25 Ultra and all past Samsung devices. When is it that you're expecting it to show as when you say you have to touch the screen in order for it to show, this is perfectly normal operation to me.

So previously if it doesn't show, I'd press my finger there and it would still unlock.

This doesn't.

It is as if it's wanting the password entered, you know like it does occasionally.

But really, it's like it wants waking up.

Hmm that doesn't appear to happen on mine. It could be any screen protector or a bad fingerprint registration, however if it consistently has problems and you have ruled everything out, the worst case is a faulty sensor. For me, it's been no different from any part device, so I would expect that to be standard.

Hi, @Chris781. Further to what's been recommended already, is the issue still evident if you toggle off the "Show animation when unlocking" setting?

Additionally, have you checked to see whether the Fingerprint sensor is working as expected?

I recommend going to Samsung Members > Support > Phone diagnostics > Run the Fingerprint Recognition hardware test.

Please let us know how you get on.

On my phone, Samsung Members app doesn't work.

Not sure why. It just sits there.

No screen protector is on.

And the sensor works fine when it's "awake".
