S25 standard vs S24 Ultra

I want to change my Smartphone (not Samsung actually) which is a bit old now and I would like to buy one from Galaxy S series.

Anyway, just to get to the point, the question is between S25 base version which is great on software and performance or S24 Ultra which is better in cameras.

The fact is that searching for the web, I can't find direct comparisons between these 2; it's always s25 standard vs s24 standard, plus vs plus, ultra vs ultra...

s25 ultra is too expensive for me right now.
While instead I don't like s25+ a lot honestly, to me it seems just a bigger s25 base and I find the latter better mostly because more comfortable and obviously like 200€ less.

I could afford s24 Ultra mainly for the cameras while still gets great performances; I found it around 800+€ more or less online.

On the other side s25 base is cheaper, more comfortable in hand and more updated, while still has good cameras.

S25 is more performant phone since it uses the new chipset snapdragon elite so if u value performance s25 is better choice this is coming from someone who switched from s24 ultra to s25 ultra

To clarify a few things. The s25+ is sorta just a bigger s25. Except the screen is 1440p, it has a bigger battery and has 45w charging. All s25 phones have the same processor and are as fast. (The s25u has a better cooler but that only affects sustained performance)

The s24 ultra compared to the s25. The s25 has a faster processor and is newer so will get updates for 1 year more.
The s24u has a bigger battery, 1440p display, 45w charging, more and better cameras. Personally I'd go ahead and just say the s24u is better than the s25 in every way other than processor. If you just do normal things and don't totally max out your phone, the s25 chip is kinda overkill. The s25 might have better image processing but the s24u has better cameras from the start. Both should get the same OS soon enough so the only difference will be the s25 might have some extra ai things.

There might be some things I missed but thats my best answer.

I have a S24U and I used it for a year and I still can't get enough of it. It is a mini computer and everything works mint, if course not everything is perfect, but I am down to earth and I know it's not a spaceship. It's fast, sturdy, reliable, plenty of apps and features and the UI6 is user friendly and versatile. Everything works as it should and it's not just empty praises, I think i got value for money with this phone. It's a bit heavy, but I like that, and the SPen makes some things easier.
Although S25 is newer and it has a newer CPU and UI7, I expect it would be a little simpler but still good.
I suggest you watch videos on YouTube about both phones, it's the best way to help you decide as they are more spontaneous and you get more visual experience. All the best!

S24 Ultra has some key advantages:

The only let down on the S24U is that the battery lasts a little lesser time than the S25U, but the phone is fast as lightning, maybe a tad slower than S25U but very negligible.

I'm comparing the s24u to the base model s25, not the s25u. The base model s25 has a smaller battery than the s24u. So the difference is a lot bigger

Don't think it's a fair comparison but of the 2, I'd go with S24u rather than a base s25

I know and you are right, the battery life would be similar. Most users get about 6-8 hours of active use on the S24U, it can last a day or more if you don't use it alot. I expect same would be if you have the smaller S25 with 4,000 mAH, but the new generation Snapdragon 8Elite extends the battery life by a mile tbh


PS: I remember why I made that comment, I wanted to emphasise that the S24U is operating very fast, if you are looking for a phone that works fast, the S24U does a good job on being fast.👍

@arianwen27 @Star_girl so, even if s25 is more recent and more optimized, s24 ultra with big battery still lasts longer right?
In terms of performance instead, is s25 that noticeable better than s24 ultra? I mean the difference is high?
